It might be "cheap" for that product, but this doesn't really look like a great keyboard… It looks really flat and like a laptop keyboard. I guess it's just my opinion but I can't imagine paying $50 to type on that.

    • Following the typical un-ergonomic Apple kb designs :P

  • I've got one and it's great, easy to use and to switch between devices

  • +1
I have it for m y Mac mini. Love it.
Plus I can pair 2 more devices. I have done my ipad but I have Hardly used it with ipad.

    • How quiet is it? I bought a Logitech K350 which was meant to be quiet, but after a couple of months it is as noisy as anything. Desperate for a quiet keyboard! I guess a problem with open plan living!

  • So it's not possible to use this on windows PC?

    • K750 is the windows version I believe. Some say this one woprks with windows and some dont, it could just be a case of incompatible bluetooth controller.

    • There is a slight layout difference with the keyboards

eg Windows key vs Apple key

Has anyone tried this out with an Android device? Any luck?

  • I'd rate it same quiet as chick let keyboard for laptop say MacBook Pro. Which I have too.
There's a bit of keyboard sound which i actually like.

I don't know about windows but I run boot camp on both MacMini and MacBook Pro
Had win7 ultimate 64bit and now windows 8 Pro 64bit worked on both but had to install something can't remember it.

Something on the lines of a driver update but the trick was to uninstall the original driver then force install driver and not let the default one to install. Sorry haven't done for a long time. That's what's left in memory.
It worked in 7 then I upgraded to 8 n it worked automatically.

  • This product would not help a radiologist

    • all you have to do is to pair it up with an UV lamp, which radiologists probably needs anyway

  • FYI: bluetooth keyboards are only $15 delivered on ebay with decent reviews.

Whats so great about this? Not the solar-power gimmick.

to be fair those ebay bluetooth mouse/keyboards are terrible

      • How so?
I have an ebay bluetooth mouse, and it works just like the Logitech, except for the battery life.

        • well that's it.. the battery life..

        • +1

if u cant appreciate the little differences here and there in build quality, then this product is not made for you. Its like comparing a no-brand polo against a burberry polo.

        • Ah! The "emperors new clothes" defence.

        • +2

not really.. i used to buy generic stuff off ebay to save money but now i would much rather buy branded products when they are on clearance as they are not much more expensive for much better quality. depending your luck low-tech peripheries like keyboards and mouse are usually a safe bet but start going into laser and wireless mouse the difference is quite noticeable. things like precision, ergonomic feel, and most importantly battery life are very different between a $25 set on ebay and a $50 (on special for as low as $30) set from logitech

        • The ebay peripherals do "work", but like you yourself said, the drawbacks may likely not be worth it for people who are using them.

If a wireless mouse has terrible battery life, then you may as well carry a wired one with you to mitigate its uselessness as a reliable wireless, portable device. Sometimes the materials feel cheap & rickety. You wonder if it'd last the distance although given theyre so cheap, I guess you could buy a few more spare in case they break.

I bought my sister a $10 BT keyboard which works, but she does find her fingers tire after using for anything longer than a quick email.

Around the same time, I also bought her this Logitech sleek looking one which feels pretty good in & under the hands. However, it goes a bit haywire (phantom keystrokes) all of a sudden after using for some time. I'm blaming the ipad BT chip, but it might still get returned to the store.

I guess my point is that unless you've used or done a bit more research on an item, perhaps we shouldnt be so quick to shoot down someone's "defence".

        • why did you buy your sister two BT keyboards at the same time?

        • They both seem like good deals at the time altho i did get the Logitech (black colour) a week earlier. I wanted see what the cheaper one was like quality-wise & thought the white better matched her ipad :P

I'd been looking on ebay a while, & seeing the cheapie from an Aussie retailer, snapped it up straight away. Pretty happy it took only a few days to arrive.

Sister's considering returning the black Logitech & buying this one, no doubt due to me being on Ozbargain too much ^^"

  • Quite tempted to grab one as i think they retailed for more than $70 from LTS previously.

Given they can pair with mulitple devices & I wont have to worry about batteries for the next decade if it doesnt break after the first 3 years, $50 doesnt seem like too hefty a price to pay.

Only downside I can think of is the bigger footprint due to the solar cells. Logitech appear to have created a very energy efficient product that can even charge off lighting in the home.

Obligatory $47.50 at OW with a pricematch

  • no numpad

  • I understand it charges via solar. But what cells or batteries do these take? If standard AAA, then I might buy one. Else no if it's on proprietary Logitech cells

    Anyone know pls?

    • Not sure what type, but according to the Logitech website, the batteries aren't replaceable, which seems to signify proprietary.

      • Hmm okay and there appears to be no mentioning of which Bluetooth type

  • Logitech says website arent replaceable but theres few utube videos on how to hack.
Id prolly use the mind reading keyboard in the next 5 yrs LOL

  • Don't know about the quality but I just bought this. I have been looking at this for a while now and I'm glad the price went down. I was considering the K760 which has the keypad (link is http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/111114314116?ssPageName=STRK:MEWA… if you are keen) but let's see how this one goes. A solar mouse or trackpad would be great too!

  • Mmmm if it was backlit keyboard I would buy it

    • To go with your solar powered torch?

  • Just bought this. Hope its good. I intent to use this on my Android phone, while hooking up to the TV via MHL, with bluetooth turned on.

Also USB on the go cable + mouse would make this a device being able to control wirelessly

  • Received mine last week, tested it in a Macbook, iPad and Samsung S3. It works a treat! Definitely need a mouse to go with it though.
