    thank you…

Awesome. This is like a $100 saving, right?

They are probably banking on people to buy the $80 coke to wash it down. :)

Oh, and the $30 3D VMax ticket.

Seriously, good deal. My 5YO always hassles me for popcorn and I am too much of a tight arse.

Except, I don't believe the theatres make much, if anything, on ticket prices.
The money they make is all about the candy bar, so the $30 ticket price mostly goes to the distributor.
I think the percentage of revenue earned by the theatre increases over weeks, which is direct relation to ticket sales slowing down, so ticket sales are not a money maker.

The $80 coke is what the salty popcorn is all about.

So it's kind of a bargain, because the theatre is giving away the biggest item that earns the revenue.

Now I just gotta figure out what movie to see….

    • +8

no need to watch, just get the pop corn

    • Just looked at the list of currently showing movies… very thin pickings…

  • +1

no mention need to buy ticket and watch a movie, right?
    crap. all voucher the same?

    • +1

it says you need to have a valid ticket. Meaning buy a ticket first then go to the candy bar section to get the voucher redeemed.

      • +6

All Village in NSW are Event Cinemas, and they are not running the promo :(

Good to see a cinema selling popcorn at cost-price.

    • But what does one have to do to stop them from pouring a cup of salt over it? :oS

(stopped buying theatre popcorn some time ago as they always over do the salt) :o(

  • Lol they covered themselves in the T&Cs.
It says "First 20,000 to redeem at the candy bar" therefore they may just keep on letting people sign up to it on Facebook, but ultimately it is the first 20k to redeem the code. So I wonder how long it will take them to go through 20k popcorn.

  • Wow wouldnt they go broke!!!!!

  • Awesome! I already had the free movie ticket, now I've got popcorn to go with it! Thanks

  • Does this apply to Event Cinemas? If not is there a similar deal?

That is the exact reason that I never go to the cinema any more, those arseholes who think it's okay to eat and make noise like pigs at the swill

You are overly sensitive. I am glad that I don't live with you.

    • One of the reasons cinemas sell popcorn because it's relatively quiet to eat. Better than selling crunchy potato chips.

  • I predict the cinema will be flood with ozbargainers and popcorn machine will go over drive.
