You should be embarrassed to have been charging for something like this!

I'm just going to copy and paste my comment from the last time you posted your deal up (I'll probably get negged for it, but people really need to think about it - and this isn't a popularity contest):

"I don't think it's terribly good form to be encouraging people to be reliant on their mobile phones in an emergency / disaster situation. The 'loud alarm' is also going to be rather useless and dependant on the device's loudeness. In a disaster, there is not much chance of it being heard. People would be better off with something like a Fox40 whistle (or similar) in a proper emergency kit for that sort of thing.

I highly recommend looking at suggested emergency kit contents on the website of the relevant emergency services in your state or maybe even call up and ask for an information pack to be sent out if they have them."

    • Not to mention the short battery life of the smart phones nowadays when everything's going.

Of course this all assumes you have phone coverage when you have your accident - doesn't it? Too bad if you fall down a cliff unless there's a tower at the bottom of it for such situations!

  • Ironically, natural hazards such as bushfire, storm, cyclone and flood often render the "mobile phone" towers and infrastructure to not working.
These events always show up the fragility of the networks we place so much faith in.
Which is the reason emergency services rely on two way radio for comms in these situations.
