  • $14 are you kidding.
You know this is OZ BARGAIN, right? Not Oz ridiculous rip-off?

Just checking. How many Porchetta pizzas can I but for $14…. answer nearly 3 or two and a half Dominos ones. Also, this is massively suburb specific.
I think the local paper would be a better place for this.

Quadruple neg, hold the anchovies from me.

    • I agree that its a bit too local to justify an entry in ozbargain….

And sure you might be lucky enough to find a $4.95 voucher for Dominos that actually works and is accepted in your local Dominos store without an argument.

However a quick check on Dominos.com.au says there is no store near "Black Rock" in Vic. And Dominos pizzas generally are about half the total area of a pizza from your local pizza store. And I personally would judge the taste of my local pizza store's pizzas way above Dominos.

So when you consider all of that, $14 for one large and one medium pizza is really not that bad.

Still doesnt get a +ve from me cos its hardly relevant to the majority of ozbargainers…

I understandc that it is local and not for everyone.

When you order the $5 larges they are full of oil, fat and are totally disgusting. (That is only my view)

I make my own pizza and by the time I'm finished buying the ingredients (olive oil, flour, yeast, bocconcini, chorizo, anchovies, canned tomatoes, basil, oregano, garlic, olives, capsicum) I've already spent well over $14 and I haven't even started cooking! $14 for a proper Italian pizza is a reasonable price. $14 for two proper Italian pizzas is a bargain.

And I don't care how many Dominos "pizzas" you can get for $14. Dominos is awful "pizza". Absolutely dreadful "pizza". Dominos is bread with cheese on top. You might as well call it a cheese toast circle. You can't compare Dominos to a real pizza. It's not even in the same ballpark.

PS: yeah yeah, I know Chorizo isn't Italian, but it's great on pizza!

I agree that this deal will be largely irrelevant to OzBargainers, because you have to live within say 5km of the pizza place to take advantage of this deal. I wouldn't normally vote for this kind of deal.

However I voted positive to balance out the negative vote someone gave, comparing it to Domino's.

I live near Lygon Street where there's heaps of gourmet Italian restaurants. There's also a Domino's as well. And you can't compare the $5 pizza to the gourmet ones.

But for my average TV takeaway dinner, I'll go with Domino's. But when I have friends over or going out, gourmet pizza it is.

I agree - you can not compare Lygon street pizza with Dominos or Pizza Hut - like saying a half price Ferrari isn't as good as your $12,000 Hyundai Getz!
And there are two types of pizza restaurants in Lygon Street - good ones, and great ones. All the others die out quickly.

    • "However I voted positive to balance out the negative vote someone gave, comparing it to Domino’s."

Well we do agree sometimes My vote is likewise

  • Fred please disclose your affiliation with this company. But its not too bad a deal if you live anywhere near them.

    • He looks like the owner or has something to do with the business, which I have no problem with.

But I agree, saying you're the owner and provides the special wouldn't hurt.

  • one thing i dont get it why can Pizza hut or Dominos afford to sell pizzas for 5.50 with coupons or 6.95 normal price and these Local Pizza shop owners sell them for $15-20 why so much? ive been to a Local pizza shop and tbh not worth the money there same size for the pizza just cost me an extra $12

    • I can't help but agree, I don't feel the price difference is worth that much in terms of quality.

  • This is just way too local. I honestly feel, even though it's an authentic Italian pizza, it's not that great of a deal. While I realise the OP (Fred) is new here, it's probably not a great idea to use ozbargain as the local paper. If you want to promote your own business, that's cool, but be honest about it too.
