  • Which binglee you went?
    Will definitely get one!!
But it looks dumb to use it as a phone…

    • From GUILDFORD store , Woodville Road
and yes it is very big , and kind of odd to use it as phone .

      • Would you mind to attach a copy of your receipt?
I went to the local BingLee today and they can only do the advertised price..
        Thanks in advance.

      • What's battery life on these? Can spare batteries be purchased. Want to get this because I sketch a lot and interested in reading pdfs and cbrs. If it can be used as a phone brilliant. Cheers.

      Simialrly the ipad camera

      • Camera 5MP Rear / 1.3MP Front , not sure about the ipad

        • +1

meant it looks ridiculous used as a phone just like an ipad as a digital camera.

If you have big hands, maybe not so much.

        • yes agree with you , still a great tablet and you can use it as phone when you need it , good for travelling.

Maybe it won't be as obvious if you use the earphones and mic instead of putting it near your ear like a phone you would normally do.

How does this work as a phone? Does it use data and need something like skype/voip to make and receive calls? or actual proper audio?

I've been looking at the note 8 Wi-Fi and wishing it was a phone….

it is like any other smartphone , it has phone app where you can dial and make phone calls . think about it as big galaxy note 2

Holy crap! That's awesome! Had no idea that a tablet could also act like a normal phone.

Who cares how you look using it? If you want to use it as a phone, use it as a goddamn phone.

    • If you were worried about how you looked, you could get a bluetooth earpiece… but then you'd look silly anyway

At least then you'd be able to play tetris while you talk to people

525 is a top price. I paid 580 a month ago, and that was a good price then. The 4g version is a fully functional cellular phone, I use mine as a work tablet/work phone using a hands free as I don't receive that many calls.

It is a seriously awesome tablet. I'd highly recommend it over the ipad mini. Buy a 64gb micro sd and you're set. It's functionality is impressive and having 4g is a must. Don't waste your time with a wifi only especially at that price!

    • Been working out how I will carry mine around if I upgrade my phone.

Is this at all pocket-able? I'm guessing not. So, does it need a man bag?

just with the 64gb micro sd, if it's the same as the 10", you can't use the sd to store apps - only data, so you might not need such a biggun. Unless you have a stack of music I guess. I like my 10", although if I bought again I would lean toward the 8 with a sim.

I changed my mind and bought it for $522 at Blacktown. The salesperson was impressed with the sketches that I did on it and I myself was surprised and how good it feels to use. Using it as a phone is a bit weird because where do you carry it unless you had cargo pants.

My third tablet apart from tablet pcs after a zenithink and a Lenovo thinkpad and it feels great to use. Those extra hundred dollars do feel worth it though.
