Grab some popcorn for the people rocking up at 7pm expecting to get their order in a couple minutes and posting their outrage on facebook lol

    • +2

      Told you :)

  • deal of the month!
haven't had KFC for few months now.. definitely getting em on tuesday

  • Never left my local KFC either!

  • Nope, it's never left the sunshine coast ether. Nor has Hot & Spicy. We get the 9Piece pack with a mixture of Hot & Spicy & Original with the 2 sides for $5 every fortnight. Bloody Great Cheap Tues Deal :)

  • it never left, pretty sure we had it on here a few weeks back

  • +1

I think WA and QLD have had it the whole time, other states had it taken away and now it's being brought back.

    • u sure for W.A.?
i was looking at the banner every tuesday, it was taken down for the last 2 or 3 weeks. couldn't remember.

  • Does QLD have hot n spicy year round?
When I was up there last year it looked at part of the normal menu, and it wasnt on down in Vic.

    • Hi Berger. Well, We have been living in QLD now for over 7 years & they have always had Hot & Spicy On the Menu since we arrived here, so I'd have to say YES we do have it all year round :)

    • +1

Yeah Berger KFC Queenland has had hot n spicy since day 1. KFC in Queensland is not franchised and fully owned by collins foods international (same mob own sizzler). Not sure why the other states dont have hot n spicy all year round.

      • Damn awesome. I fly up for a week tomorrow. Gunna have to stop by.

      • WA has H&S all year around as well.

        • Who wants to go to WA? :-P

      • I thought the YUM! group were the national owners of KFC, they also own Pizza Hut.

EDIT: Curiousity got the better of me… looks like QLD have their own site/owners, well I'll be! Wonders if it tastes better up there?

        • I'll let you know!

        • tastes the same :(

    • +6

QLD definitely has hot n spicy all year

Who knows sydney might get it once they win an origin game :P

  • I haven't had KFC for a couple of decades. Can anyone tell me what sort of pieces you typically get when you order this deal?

    • Basically… anything.

      Forequarters, thighs, drumstick, wings

      They just pick whatever.

    • 9 pieces is exactly 1 chicken which is 2 of each - 1 breast. Staff might give you some other combination to compensate for customers asking for say, extra breasts earlier though.

      • nubix is correct

      • 'extra breasts earlier though' I'm confused. It's probably the word 'breasts'. I like breasts, they are my favourite. Can you order breast at KFC? And if you can as part of this deal? 'Pieces of chicken' don't include strips, fillets etc. right? Just thighs, wings, drumsticks… I go for the burgers, popcorn chicken, boneless fillets so I don't really know about these things.

        • From the Facebook promo:

A crowd favourite is coming back! Unscramble the letters below to see what DAY of the week you can score NINE pieces of Original Recipe Chicken for JUST $9.95!

        • Original Recipe Chicken… Sorry if this sounds n00b but isn't that an umbrella term for all KFC chicken pieces? And why did you highlight the 'NINE'?

        • I think it's a fair question, no need to neg.

        • Was just trying to be helpful, it wasn't a meant to seem anything but that. I should have probably highlighted the $9.95 too.

        • It was a reasonable question and I didn't neg you by the way, you can check the votes.

        • Okay thanks for trying to be helpful. I understand the price and amount of pieces coupled with the promotion just the type of chicken pieces on offer I was confused on. I still am so if anyone can tell me what exactly they mean by it I would be thankful. Obviously there are differences between wings, thighs, drumsticks is it a mix you get? Can you tailor it? Can you include fillet breast (since that is still a piece of chicken coated in original recipe batter)? It's not very clear at all for someone who has never ordered a KFC bucket.

        • I'm pretty sure it's just the standard pieces (Original or H&S)… no fillets, popcorn chicken, burgers, nuggets, etc

    • I haven't had KFC for a couple of decades.

Ah, a woman after my own heart. You sure you're not single? (Semi-private joke, folks.) ;-p

We cooked our own version the other day. We cooked it too long, so the spices were a little burnt. The spice mix was months old too - not fresh. Come to think of it - it STILL tasted better than KFC, LOL.

    .

  • Do you know if other states (VIC specifically) still have the 2 sides for $5 promotion as well? Last time I went they didn't advertise it so not too sure ..

  • +4

The deal definitely came and went in VIC the last time it was here. I remember going into a KFC asking for it and them telling me the deal was gone.

    Daniel

  • Thanks for headsup :)

  • My Local KFC took it away for 2 months and replaced it for 12 for 12.
Which was 6 pcs of chicken and 6 tender strips.

    • +1

yeah that 12 for 12 was horrid. this deal is so much better

    • I thought twelve for 12 was all right. People whinged about strips being tiny, but they don't have any bones so it's much the same meat-wise.

      • +1

I had the 12 for 12 once and once only. I felt the value wasn't there. 9 for 9 many more times, but not 9 times.

  • My local kfc had to change their store just for this deal. The service has remarkably improved, when the deal first started you could have been inline for 30+ mins then wait another 30 for the order. I guess they never anticipated such demand, but they must be doing good business to keep it going. :-)

  • I exclusively eat at places where they feed me my dinner out of a bucket.

  • QLD has all 3 of those deals running. 2 for $5 - 9 for $9 & the 12 for $12

  • G'day mate - does VIC still have hot and spicy?

  • +4

They will try and get you on the Sides, chips/soft drinks/etc.

    This is what I suggest.

    1. You can eat it at home, perhaps with some rice/bread, salad etc. So it becomes less of a junk food, and more of a balanced meal.

    2. Left overs can be used for tomorrow's lunch, in a sandwich or roll form, heat it in a sandwich press, and
      wait for reactions from colleagues.

    • +1

Yes brokeasajoke. That is what we do with our leftovers. We usually keep the 3 largest pieces of the 9 & make chicken, cheese & tomato toasted sandwiches the next day. So the price is good for 2 meals :)

    • +3

am i the only one who enjoys cold from the fridge kfc chicken more than hot?

      • +3

        You're a monster.

      • +1

Thigh pieces definitely as there is nothing worse than getting a mouthful of grease

  • +1

Is there anywhere is victoria that still does hot n spicy? anywhere?

  • +1

i ordered 18 pieces of chicken and only got 17 pieces on tuesday.. is it worth complaining?

    • +1

Most Defiantly ekone. Its always worth a try to see what you can get as compensation, lol ;)

      • so they compensate another 1 piece to ekone.. :P

  • Few beers tonight - will be perfect tomorrow morn!

  • This deal is still on in case anyones wondering, i wasn't sure coz they don't mention it on their website at the moment & sometimes finish deals at the end of a month. Got a good mixture of larger pieces this time too, not scabby like last time with all wings & drumsticks, depends on how busy they are i think.

  • is the deal still on today?
