  • LG or Sony?

    • sony glasses. LG TV. pretty clear on the receipt.

      • Why get sony glasses for an LG TV?

        • Maybe they've got compatible active* systems.
I got glasses from the cinema for my passive LG TV.

*I assumed Sony only did active 3D

        • new sony tv's are passive now

        • W900.

  • isn't it going to be $1000 cheaper in a couple of months?

and 3k for a tv, too much IMO

  • didnt have any LG left and they are all passive glasses same thing

Isn't this just the same price as HN/JB minus your $250 for spending over X amount? (their current promo)

    • Didn't know Sony did passive.

      • Only two models I believe, the old 4k TV and a mid-range full HD TV.

        • +1

4K has been around long enough to be old?

  • hmm i didnt get the credit, didnt realise thats was on….

    damn lol

  • Just rang the store…

I also get the $250 store credit aswell

Actually I was in the same train of thought as this until I bought a cheap LG after Xmas, its a great TV, best I've had in fact l. Same as my Nexus 4, great quality. It seems like LG have improved greatly.

      • Guess you not had a Sony or Samsung then

        • Yeah, I've actually had a Sony and have a Samsung as well. Samsung screens aren't all that.

    • LG are totally different in reliability today to what they were, say 7 or 8 years ago.

      They've improved their QC immensely.

The problem is once you've spent $3-$4K on one of their TV's, and had it drop dead 1 month out of warranty, you somewhat lose trust in what they peddle.

          stat warantee would cover you.

  • As know new sony model now have passive 3D and it about the same price with jb 15% off .

    3K for an LG? O.o

I would rather get this for under 2K:

There are differences between plasma TVs and LED TVs.
LG products are made in Korea and Pabasonic are made in China now, unlike 20 years ago when Panasonic were made in Japan. Stop living in the past :)

      • Nobody said anything about where it's made blah b blah blah. And of course LED read LCD and plasma are different but I agree with masuta, I would go with the Panasonic any day, just Google any review of the Panasonic vs the LG

        • I have a Veira and an LG, I prefer the LG personally but each to their own.

Obviously he compared Plasma to LED. Which is not right, Its like comparing apple to orange. Why not compare the prices of other brands of LED TVs with the same size and specs. The LG is a LED TV that's why its priced at 3k whereas the Panasonic is a Plasma, so its 1k cheaper.
As I said before Panasonic used to be good about 15 years ago but these days its not that great.

        • You are joking right? The Panasonic neo plasmas have better blacks, faster refresh rates, full hd for 3d and cost 1k less than led (yep still an LCD). The main thing the LCD will do better at is lower power consumption.

      • You kidding me right? nowsday PLASMA VS LED TVs? cmon..

Panasonic is japanese brand, you cant deny that, and yes everything made in china, iphone was made in china, so do samsung galaxy series

  • As above mentioned in multiple comments, 3k for a LG TV is quite hard to stomach, their colour reproduction is always out of whack. Perhaps appealing to those who like the TV design and 60" size.

  • This is LG TV is supposed to be one of their better models.

JB price is $3298. JB quite often has 15% off tv deals which would bring the final price down to $2803.30
So if you can use the store credit its worth around $50 compared to the JB sale price. The glasses arent worth much as they are just the shitty plastic passive ones. I have sony ones and they are insanely uncomfortable if they are the same type.

3k for a 3D passive is overpriced. The active 3D is superior by far
