By the end of all these free courses and ebooks I'm going to be a photography pro.

    Cheers, ohisee.

Upto "LECTURE 7". Oh god… Not trying to pick a fight with this guy, but this is truly bad. Better stuff on youtube.

Only thing I took away from it is travel tips… Walk in Rome, and careful of pickpockets…

"In a city, you're going to be looking at a lot of… well, city photographs" no, really?

Maybe the courses are free because it's bad. Or maybe they are the best of the bunch, to try to attract people to Udemy

      • Check out Lecture 22.

You can make a panorama by taking a photo, and then turning a little bit, and take another photo which overlaps it, and then later, you can use software to merge those photos together. He then rambles on about the details in the pictures and the fun he had in the places he went, the pollution in the sky that makes the sky colours so pretty, and look at this mountain range that kind of looks like a man lying on his back, blah, blah, blah…

        tl;dr #1 = Overlap pictures to make a panorama.

        tl;dr #2 = http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/you-dont-say

My advice: Or just buy a camera that takes panorama photos…

  • I think it's 48 hours

Thanks OP, this'd definitely be useful for outside shooting

  • I have watched parts of this course on www.skillfeed.com

The course is ok but isn't professional as some.

Course is ideal for beginners which the course states.

Finally a course that I might actually have a go at lol

  • Don't put your email address. I made that mistake and they don't stop sending emails and I'm the kind of user who always ticks "Do not contact me"

  • I know it's free but the guy's photos shown on Lecture 1 are wonky.

  • excellent, been looking to increase my photog skills.

and as SrMoure said, no need to put in real email address. just name and password, and stick in any random address and you're in!

This course was originally advertised as $79 but with a discount code for $39 for 2 weeks.

Then it was advertised at $25, which I thought "Ouch! How would you feel if you'd paid $39? you'd be really annoyed!"

Still, I was interested enough and decided I had gotten a few good things from udemy on the freebies, and would actually make a purchase. So, a week ago, I bought it at $25.

Now it's free, and I will never buy another udemy course again. I'll just wait until it's free.

For what it's worth, as someone who has actually paid for it and completed 70% of it so far - it's not worth it. A number of the lectures are just "Here's a travel picture I took - isn't it nice looking? I'm not so much telling you how I did it, but I am just showing it to you because it looks nice. Oh, here's another picture."

The appropriate price for this course is $0, and for that, I'll give a +ve to the deal, even though I'm personally irritated I paid for it. I have learned my lesson on udemy - not a cent more from me for any instructor ever.
