I have bought these headphones before and they were awesome, I accidently blew the right driver on my first pair but MyMemory replaced them for free (under the lifetime warranty) and refunded my shipping costs (about $18) as well. I sold my 2nd pair for $60+ shipping on eBay and regretted it ever since.

I bought another pair just now as I have taken up jogging and my earbuds always come loose and fall out.

  • Was cheaper before but if my old one ever dies, wouldn't even hesitate to grab a new pair straight away. Excellent headphones without a doubt!

    • Yea, cheaper due to strong AUD back then.

8 years ago when i'm still a high school teenager its between this and AKG K412P. I picked K412P and it haunts me ever since..

    Not anymore..

  • Good deal.

Awesome headphones. Don't let the price out you off.
I bought these back in the early 90s for $130 …

So, if you're an audio elite who only buys expensive stuff (because expensive is better), I'll sell them to you for $200 a pair … If it makes you feel better ;)

If you like on-ear headphones that are light with a tight punchy bass, I highly recommend these! Cost wise, there is NO competition.

  • bought two.

  • Thanks ezarc, grabbed a pair.

  • These are great, however note they are not 'closed' so you do hear background noise. If that doesn't bother you then go for it, great sound, great quality and retro design..

  • Ordered. Had trouble using PayPal - kept saying it wasn't sure whether the order was processed (wasn't). Had to order using CC.

  • You may not be eligible for the 'lifetime guarantee' if you buy from here. Great headphones.

  • So this is the old model for a nice price.
Though the first price google drops out is 27 USD from http://www.best-electronicstore.com/product_info.php?currenc…

Edit apparently they seem to sell some fake stuff according to http://www.ripoffreport.com/r/best-electronic-store/houston-…

  • Thanks OP bought one, got no problem with Paypal.

      • cheers

  • Really good set of headphones.

  • Bought one because of the looks =D
and is this the 2 weeks delivery as usual?

  • I don't mean to sound stupid, but this or wait for ATH-M50's to come on sale for use on a desktop?

    • +1

This may help your decision I already own the at-m50 and their really good if you don't mind hot ears.

here comes the ath m50 bandwagon

    • I have my ath-m50 for a few years now and I think they sound pretty good for their price.

What surprise me is I recently bought a new DAC & AMP (before I just connect them directly to my computer) and they just sound so much better!

Even they started getting a bit worn and I have bought a couple high-end ones, I've never regretted buying the m-50 :)

      • May I ask which DAC and amp you went for? (Am considering getting for my HD-595s…)

  • Just beware everyone they are open headphones meaning that if you sit on public transport the person next to you can hear your Katy Perry track blasting away !

  • AU$38.85 after shipping using PayPal exchange rate. Thanks for the post OP

    • The MyMemory Ebay store is selling these for $38.92

All aussie sellers are around $60. Tempted to buy a few pairs and try and make some profit but I imagine most people dont mind buying from UK.

      • use 28 degreecards may save you 1-2 bucks.

        • Yep, in foreign currency fees- mine too was around $38.

  • Best headphones ive ever owned. and ive owned a lot, expensive and otherwise.
Comphy for long wear, doesnt hug your ears, adjust well, doesnt move about while exercising.
ONLY negative is that people can hear them other than you, but thats all open phones.
Open always sounds better if you're not somewhere loud.

Even then, i still prefer open at the gym, as you dont sweat as much.

  • Way better and more popular than DR BeATs rubbish headphones.

  • Thanks OP, and thanks to those who've owned that are providing positive feedback :D Makes the purchase even sweeter! Looking forward to listening to them.

  • Thanks, had been planning on trying these out one day - now is as good a time as any.

  • one of the top 5 best reviewed on consumersearch. definitely the best in that price range.

    http://www.consumersearch.com/headphones

  • used paypal cost me $38.85. should've used my 28degrees card.

  • Can these work if the output is from a mobile phone? The specs say impedance is 60 ohms and that's much higher than the typical headphones I see at 32 ohms. I'm worried they won't be loud enough due to the high impedance.

    • I used them with my old HTC Incredible S and they were very loud, I have no idea how many ohms the headphone jack on it is though.

    • After reading some reviews, I think it is true that this set is not very loud. But most did give it a positive review, especially about the price/performance ratio.

      • Loud enough mate. I use them at work and even though they are "on ear", I have issues hearing the next cubicle over if volume is up over half way. I've purchased 4 sets of Koss KSC75 over the years and there are no better cans at their price point, but always had issues with the cord connection to the speakers due to short cord syndrome. Changed to these a year ago and will not look back. Excellent price here. Nice find OP.

    • I have the volume on my S2 set to 3/10 and they are already very loud! :|
I am running a custom rom so maybe my '10' is '20' on stock. :P

I have opened and closed the link more than 50 times in the last 22 hours because I keep telling myself I don't need another set of headphones!!!

    • Ha Ha, same here. I finally purchased some ATHM-50's after procrastinating for over a year. I have done the same with these every time they pop up on Ozbargain. I really dont need another pair of headphones but I want to try them out.

    • I would strongly suggest this, they are really good. I bought an year ago and still running good. Very good sound. The only issue is it looks "old" ;-). Go for it

  • Just bought this and KSC75 $58 combined. Very good deal.

  • I bought the sportapro myself but these headphones are the business. Never had a set that sounds so good, can take a beating and small enough to fit in a suit pocket. Truly awesome.

  • How long is the delivery time. Mine shipped today.

  • +2

Now I know I'm OLD. I used to own similar looking koss in the mid 80's. I think paid $90 then to go with the top of the range auto reverse AIWA walkman. Where is that walking stick?

  • +4

I've owned my set for a couple of years, purchased from MyMemory. They are insane value for money. Punchy, tight bass, heaps of detail, never harsh, you will hear parts of your favourite songs you never knew existed. A true bargain.

    • +1

      mine arrived today : 2/sept/'13
"you will hear parts of your favourite songs you never knew existed"
      That's true.
Vibrant transients, bright harmonics, and everything else is deliciously uncoloured.
i had to adjust my playback settings markedly … since no longer have to compensate for deficient bass etc when using my old earbuds.
Incredibly comfortable … can even wear a sun-hat at the same time … no problem.
      Very happy chappy.

  • Does anybody know any headset with mic that has a metal band like this one? I have a big head and normal headsets break on my head. If they do not break then my head hurts because they are too tight. I am hoping I can manually bend something like this if needed.

  • Has anyone received theirs yet?

    • Was just wondering that, have not received mine either. Would expect it to arrive this week

      • It's curious, as my other order from the UK which was dispatched on the same day, just arrived today. The destination was the same, but I suppose different airports in the UK would have different speeds. :X

  • Finally got mine. Wow. Worth the wait. So so good! Very comfortable.

  • Picked mine up a few hours ago, Ill be breaking them in at low volume for a few days.

  • For those of you who just got their koss, I ENVY YOU. mine hasnt arrived yet..

On unrelated note, don't forget to burn-in your headphone :)

    http://www.head-fi.org/t/56744/headphone-burn-in-faq

Edit: for those whose koss portapro has arrived, where do you live?

  • -1

yeah i got some a while back, from comments like on this post I expected to be 'absolutely blown away'. I wasnt. My nokia earbuds sounded about the same.

    • try letting it play for 24 hour or leave it overnight. it gets better.

also, what mp3 player are you using?

  • received mine on monday. metro melbourne.

    • When was your order dispatched? Mine was dispatched 17/08 but I am in BNE.

  • Still haven't received mine. Address was in suburban Brisbane. :/

    • Received mine today. Box was a bit dinged. Oh well.

  • Just got mine and it turns out that they sent me the novero rockdales instead :-( the sound isn't as good as the portaPro's:-(
