anyone interested should check out the "uptowns" as well, better quality construction IMHO but i don't think it's discounted as much as these ones (or at all)

  Bassy, have issues with the volume slider. Top end is ok, very comfortable.
  
  If you want a decent set of closed cans, the Creative Aurvana Live are awesome if you can find them for around $50.
  
  If you are OK with open, look for the Philips RP-HTF600's for around $50. My favorite cans so far (for under $100)
