  • $396 at jbhifi. £199 at amazon UK + delivery. Looks like a good deal

  • This looks like a really good deal. Tempting the hell out of me…
I saw a Bauhn Clearance 5.1 at Aldi yesterday with the large bookshelf speakers reduced to $199 for the whole setup - crappier brand but much bigger speakers.

  • Would these be a worthwhile improvement over a Logitech Z5500 setup? (Small lounge room).

    thanks :)

    • Whats wrong with your z5500's that you want to replace them?

To answer your question, its hard to say. Some of these htib speakers are absolute rubbish and are just mass produced cheap crap.

      • The Z5500 is a bit limiting these days if you are using it for a home theatre set up. The main thing being that it doesn't have any HDMI inputs. Also doesn't support TrueHD or DTS HD MA. No smartphone integration.

      • Nothing at all really, am still quite happy with them.

Anyone able to find any decent reviews on this thing? My Google-fu is failing me

  • it's using the VSX-324 Receiver, I think it's the lower end model,
maybe worst than the VSX-522 but I don't have them to compare so do your own research

and pretty sure it doesn't have the "MCACC" thing on this model?

    • you are right, this package uses a cheaper receiver that is not available for sale individually, not their lowest model VSX-522/523. Not sure what they cheap out in the receiver.
Whoever bought it, please give a mini review.
This deal is of poorer value compared to the package that has the VSX-522 and better subwoofer for about $299 some time ago.

  • How come they don't accept Paypal? According to this page they should.

  • Good deal - purchased. No more RCA to minijack adaptors into micro hi-fi line in for me!

      Hey getsharp,
I am close to pulling the trigger on this one myself.

Did you find much in the way of reviews? OR check them out yourself?
Or just going on impulsive vibe?

      • I ended up getting these. I am very happy with the sound quality for the price. It was extremely easy to set up as well and I think it was great value for money.

I was very surprised how powerful such tiny speakers are
