500

GARMIN NUVI 1450LMT 5.0" GPS with Free Lifetime Traffic and Map Update $89 @ DSE Starts Tomorrow.

In store only and not available for click and collect.

The large screen nuvi 1450LMT offers FREE lifetime maps and traffic, multiple-point routing, lane assist with junction view to guide you through busy highway interchanges, pedestrian routing options and ecoRoute.

Includes Lifetime Map Updates
Right out of the box, the nuvi 1450LMT comes bundled with nüMaps Lifetime. Which means you can download the newest map data when it becomes available - no monthly fees or maintenance costs.

Includes Lifetime Traffic
A combination power cable/traffic receiver in the box gives you traffic services for the life of your device. You’ll avoid traffic jams and keep moving when your nuvi alerts you and offers detours. No additional purchases are necessary.

Know the Lane before It's Too Late
No more guessing which lane you need to be in to make an upcoming turn. Lane assist with junction view guides you to the correct lane for an approaching turn or exit, making unfamiliar intersections and exits easy to navigate. It realistically displays road signs and junctions on your route along with arrows that indicate the proper lane for navigation.

Turn-by-turn Directions
nuvi 1450LMT has an intuitive interface that greets you with 2 simple questions: "Where To?" and "View Map." Touch the color screen to easily look up addresses and services and get voice-prompted, turn-by-turn directions that speak street names to your destination.

Go Beyond navigation
Also offered on nuvi 1450LMT are standard nuvi features that go beyond navigation:
• enhanced pedestrian navigation capabilities - pairs great with optional cityXplorer maps to navigate big cities
• ecoRoute - a green feature that calculates a more fuel-efficient route and tracks fuel usage
• travel tools - JPEG picture viewer, world travel clock with time zones, currency converter, measurement converter and calculator
• "Where Am I?" emergency locator - get your exact latitude and longitude coordinates, the nearest address and intersection, and the closest hospitals, police stations, and fuel stations
• anti-theft feature Garmin Lock
• custom voices and vehicles from Garmin Garage
• microSD card slot

  • Excellent price for that unit.

  • Damn.. I did the last Nuvi 40 sale for $49.. The lifetime maps and live traffic updates is definitely worth the extra $40.. :( :(

    • I bought the Garmin Nuvi 40 a month ago for $59. First GPS I've ever bought. I've been happy with it.

      • I did the same, but it has been the worst. despite having unlimited updates.

We keep switching out to our phones.

  • If you dont want live traffic, you can get the newer version for $101 delivered with the code "SUPERSHIP"

    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/in-car-navigation/garmin-nuvi-52…

    • The difference is that 1450 has live traffic and 52LM has speed limits. That's for the sacrifice of live traffic and extra $12.

      Live Traffic + $12 <> Speed Limit ??

      • Just about every car GPS has a speed limit function. Some display it, some beep you when you reach it. Where it works and how accurate it is is dependent on the map data.

      • Garmin 1450 has speed limit shown. This depends on the map, not the model.

$99 and free delivery for next 2 hrs and 50 mins.

  • Junction View on mine isn't available, possibly after the update. Anyone who bought this before is having the same issue?

  • This is great! cheers

Consider the voice activated GPS by Garmin. We have one at work and once you use one you will NEVER go back to manual input.

    :-)

    • The voice activation never works, just a gimmick !

      • Can be tricky, but after changing "voice command" to "voice control" it works every time for me.

      • Works very well for me on the 2360 LMT I bought in a previous deal with Golf watch.

Check your local DS and see whether they have a Garmin 2595LMT (clearance model). Got a brand new one a few weeks ago for $69.

Damn it just bought a Garmin 3590LMT for 152$ :(

  • Just bought the last one from brisbane city DSE (They only had 2 units originally and had already sold one). Thanks OP

  • When I google this model it comes up with a dicksmith live daily deals ad saying $79 save $20. If I click on the link it isn't listed though.
I have been thinking about getting a new GPS as the map update on my old TomTom is $99 itself.

    • Same here. Has anyone picked this up in store yet?

      • Yes. It's $89.

    • I cannot find the link you refer to. May have been an error by dse. Price is definitely $89 in store today only.

  • Thank you - bought one in North Sydney. Plenty more in stock there.

  • Does this unit have speed cam alerts?

    • I believe it's additional option which needs a fee to be payed. Need to confirm though.

    • I'd be very surprised if it doesn't have that data, most of them do.If not there are (or used to be) plenty of free download sites for all manner of POIs.

Not the first time that we had an offer from DSE on this unit.
Using the search I found it was priced at:

    $149 on 10/08/2012
    $119 on 25/01/2013
    $99 on 18/06/2013

    • And it's now the cheapest ever. So what's the problem?

  • just bought 1 from ashfield, nsw (not sure on stock levels)
didn't think about it but bought 2 yr additional warranty (=3yr) for extra $50, now thinking whether I need that extra 2 years…

    • Got the last one from Carindale QLD. They offered me the extended warranty for $30 then 2 seconds later they drop it to $24 and finally $22, but I insist not to take it.

  • 2 left in Sydney city plaza on pitt/market st. Yes $89, thanks OP.

  • Who provides the live traffic info for Garmin here in Oz and how accurate is it for say Syd/Melb?

  • This or Tom Tom?

    • Both are good.

    Sold out Elizabeth SA.

Rang Modbury this morning and they stated that they couldn't find the shipment and the believed Ingle Farm and Golden Grove are in the same boat. Don't know if they've found them yet…

  • Does anyone know how to get the life time map updates?

Do you just download the "Garmin Express" program and connect your GPS to your pc or do you have to register the device or something as well?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Just bought one from Rockdale, 10 left.

Good GPS, fast and responsive, not sure how gimmicky the features are but it can track your fuel economy and what not too which is cool. has Eco Driving mode which tells you how much you braked/accelerated.

  • Thanks OP, purchased to replace Tom Tom. No more purchasing of maps.

  • Does it only have Australia Maps? how hard is it to add a NZ map to it as well? I want to get this for my parents as a Xmas gift. They are planning a big driving trip to NZ and this would be a good thing to get them.

    • It comes with AU + NZ maps.

      • Great now lets see if I can pick one up tomorrow :)

        • The sale ended today at 5pm =)
