  • Is it finished?
I also want to get one.
Any more stock coming soon? Will there be another post with discount code?

  • How does one view asian TV channels on a PC?

I'd like to be able to watch some Japanese / Hong Kong channels so I can brush up on some language skills.

  • +1
    • No Japanese tv?

  • I only want Cantonese

    • +1

I don't need any other channels except TVB and ATV.

  • Call 02 8960 5179 they have plenty of stock !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Same price ( price matched ) with express delivery and all pre installed CN, HK, TAIWAN TV channels and TV dramas and movies. Please refere to Eric from Enternet station cafe .

  • I paid my TVPad2 1 month ago for $229 including shipping. They threw in a 16G USB as well. So I would not say that this is a true bargain. I used the wireless feature as I hate running cables from my modem at kitchen to my lounge room.

For watching TVB "live" sometimes it has delays on wireless, but watching TV dramas that is not live (say 1 day old), it is pretty smooth. Admittedly my house is like 6.2km from exchange so ADSL speed is pretty slow (like 2-3Mbps).

    • Which ISP are you with?

      • Good Old TPG ….. I don't think I will get much better speed by using other ISP though, other than getting cable to my house.

        • TPG Here on 20Mbit/1Mbit. No lag issues except for the initial loading lag/buffering, ans sometimes blips here n there.

        • Well looks like your house is well situated close to the exchange.

  • Forget it, I just ordered wobo i5 from China less than 100 including shipping. It's an A9 cortex 1.6 GHz dual core chip with 1GB RAM.
    http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?spm=a1z10.1.w15568292-18278…

    • let us know how that goes… in terms of usage/channels/ etc

      • No problem. I will do a unboxing and usage on video

        • less than 40 bucks seriously??

        • yes..less than 50 and it looks much better than tvpad2. The built quality is comparable to AppleTV.
But I bought through an agent. So could be 70 bucks in the end including courier post to australia

        • "much better" is subjective. Depends what you want out of it I guess. I dont thnk the $50 has what I need, ie. Korean or Japanese tv?

Though has heaps of Chinese stuff so many ok for parents etc..?

        • Yea…but i cant complain if it's only $50..Pretty good for chinese speaking parents to watch.

        • Yah.

What Chinese channels does it have?

        • I think it's about the same as tvpad2

        • Can you please post the site here?

          Product name and model number?

        • -1

The product info site on a few threads above.

      • If the servers that stream the programs are in China, I think that pretty much limits the performance. I would like to see how smooth is the viewing quality.

  • Here's a good introduction of wobo i5, http://www.7po.com/thread-64767-1-1.html. It's in chinese but you can see the pictures as it speaks for itself.

    • looks ok.

720p and 1080p stream? wonder how that would go with streaming? lag?

      • I will let you know when i receive it. Probably next 2 weeks

        • Any luck getting the Wobo I5 working Donkuok? If so, I wouldn't mind any pointers? Thanks

        • I just received it and the unit is fabulous. It can play over 500 channels, including latest movies in HD. The unit is very responsive as I browse thru the channels and movies. Must buy. total cost thru an agent only 100 AUD.

        • can the unit view HK TVB channel?

        • Unfortunately not..

    • how u go ?

  • Any Live Tennis channel?

      • That legal notice is both ways. Unfortunately, the article doesn't show the result of this conflict.

Although, TVB is in question, please note that many people have said it does not come pre-installed. (I wasn't able to purchase a box so I can't confirm 100%)

    • lol, Police raids have become dull. Bunch of cops standing around with hand in their pockets and confiscating not 5, but a whole 6 units.

Anyway, they are selling subscriptions, thats different to the TVPad.

The TVPad lets you install apps to watch the TV shows, and does not charge a monthly fee.

If you illegally watch shows on an iPod, police ain't gonna raid every Apple store… okay, maybe if outta donuts.

      • the shops are selling hardware, whatever buyer install or run on it is different story……

people copies downloaded movies onto iPod/iPad & watching it everyday, maybe police should target Apple……

  • Yea, this deal needs to come back… -_-

    Do something mobileciti!

    • Have look the today's new deal for TVpad2 http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/115745

      • Hi Rep
Just wondering if you have any deals similar to this one for the tvpad2? Willing to put in order straight away if you can do for $209 delivered again.

  • Has anyone received the goods?

When I placed order last week, it's placed in backorder with estimate dispatch date of 2/9. But this estimate dispatch date keeps changed everyday, now it's 7/9, and my order status is still backorder.

Is this estimate dispatch date for all the back orders, or just for the order placed right now?

    • +1

I had mine come in last Friday morning. I placed the order on Wednesday and got confirmation that it was posted on Thursday at around 4pm and got it Friday at about 8am. Super Quick!

Looking to get another one if Mobileciti brings it back again.

Also, for those that haven't got it yet, the unit doesn't come with any apps installed by default as previously advised. You'll need to install the HK channels manually through a thumb drive.

      • still waiting this deal to come back! definitely order one for the old man!

        • Hi,

Have look the today's new deal for TVpad2 http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/115745

        • I'd say it's a very bad deal compare to this one here……

we have no need a low end mobile phone, and have plenty of MicroSD cards left over…..

  • Still no sign of my TV pad!

It's just me or someone out there waiting too?

    • Mine was on backorder.

Its been on ready to send with AUS Post for a couple of days now.

Hopefully it will actually arrive soon.

      • all backorder has been dispatch, Please email us if you don't received your order by next week.

        • Thanks, got my pad delivered on Friday.

        • Received today

          Cheers

  • Hi everyone
