GPlayer for iOS - Free (Was $2.99)

140

GPlayer for iOS has gone free again.
It works very well and so far has played everything I have thrown at it. I believe both iPad and iPhone versions of the app are free.

Great app and worth picking up, especially if it's free, but beware that some AC3 audio streams in MKV files won't play: http://gplayersupport.wordpress.com/

The issue's been around for a while, so don't hold your breath waiting for a quick fix…

  • I really like OPlayer, it can even play subtitles as well.

  • I was searching for a media player that would play nice with my new Seagate Wireless Plus that was on ozbargain recently and have found the best app (jail broken) has been XBMC for iOS. I've been using XBMC on original Xbox and on win7 recently and never knew there was a version for iPad. So happy I found it! Works great via SMB (better than uPnP/DLNA) and plays MKVs with AC3 and DTS without a hitch, no other app that I've found can do this.

  • Beatles Flaacs on iPad connected to car stereo = win for me. Got this 18 months ago, good player.

  • nPlayer can ply 1080p mkv files smoothly

    • I take that back, tested more files and there was lag in a few of them

  • I've had GPlayer for quite some time now and it's worked flawlessly for everything I've ever thrown at it!
I did get VLC recently but haven't really played around with it yet so I can't say what it's like on IOS. But obviously a great player on the PC!!!
