    (still a good price but)

  • Wow this has everything for under $1000, except an SSD. Awesome, strongly considering a purchase. Anyone know of anything else with similar specs for this price?

    • they will change the price back to $1273 tomorrow as the dicksmith deal expire.

      • Yes, as expected they have reverted to the original price.

    • Similar specs? No. I did a fairly extensive research on laptops before purchasing this. You can always swap out the blurry drive for a ssd caddy

  • they had to price match dicksmith price to prevent people from price beating it.

  • I'm on one the one I bought on Friday from DS. Very fast, beautiful screen, the speakers are loud and clear, the backlit keyboard is great. Haven't tried BF3 on it yet, I'm still getting used to the peculiarities of W8.
I had been price/spec watching for a few months and am happy with the value for money this machine offered.
    I'm very happy with it.

    • just out of curiosity - what's the batt life like? (it's only a 4 cell from what i remember)

  • How does this unit compare to the Horize gaming notebooks?

    • better than horize

      • A sweeping answer to a general question.

If lucksmith has a particular Clevo in mind, then an accurate answer can be given.

    • Horize is poor quality stuff. would not touch.

  • the fan quite noisy anyway

  • I don't like the screen too shiny like a mirror no good in room with a lot of lights.

I'm in a room with a lot of lights right now, with the light background of this page, I can only see a little reflection in the bezel. I quite like the screen.
Wouldn't all touch screen laptops require a shiny glass screen?

      • +1

I suppose they do but I find those screens hard to watch especially with light coming in on the sides I see my ugly face in the screen. I look for fhd matt screen not worried about touch.

  • whoops

  • Got one at HN on Saturday for a total of $1150 including 3 year Product Care Replacement plan. As per this plan, they replace the product with a new one should it fail even due to minor faults, incl. wear and tear, overheating, humidity, dust, etc.
Tried the laptop for 3 days and it's fantastic in all respects.
Loads Windows amazingly fast, very quiet. Touch screen is great, with 1920x1080 resolution. All the specs are great. Not to mention that it looks great too.
RRP is $1599. So for $1039 it's a real bargain.
So, I am really happy with my choice.

    • Any chance you can send me a copy of the receipt my stupid friend didn't get. Wanted to see it and it was $1273 again.

  • 15" Gaming Laptops?

    • Any other laptops without this price range that will offer better value?

Or is this deal pretty much the don?

    • I recommend for value for money and quality The MSI ones. You can get them from MSY.

      • That's only valid if this deal is not on sale. Seems to be recurring though.

  • So, as of right now, is there still somewhere we can get this laptop at around about that price? (03/09/2013 10:15am)

    • get mine if you want, I bought it and rarely use it
