Cheapest competitor I saw was Wiggle.co.uk for $225.50 (plus postage), however that is only for the Black version. The Teal version is $353.89 on Wiggle. Looks like a good price. I have a different model Garmin HR watch that I wear when I run. It is awesome for keeping track of how far I've run and how much fitter I am becoming. I've even noticed my resting heart rate starting to decrease as my run times come down. I had a quick look online and I cant see it much cheaper even from OS.

    • I just got the ForeRunner 410 last week for my bday. Wow.. It's freaking amazing. The stats and info it acquires is awesome! Perfect for stat junkies or nerds (like me). :D

Might want to add it has GPS into the title.
Also this guy does good reviews on sports watches. http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2010/12/garmin-forerunner-210-in-…

  • I went with the 410. Thanks OP

I've used a 405 for a few years and the wireless transfer is flakey and the control dial a pain in the arse. I've done three runs this week and it refused to transfer the data to the pc for the first two runs, then today I plugged it in and it transferred first go. The control dial spins past what you want, will go backwards instead of forwards, doesn't respond at all…..I'd just prefer buttons. The battery life is good enough, GPS and HRM work well, gives you a heap of data (once you finally get it onto the computer) to analyse with your training. They're a great aid for running.

If you sign up for the Rebel Sports Season Pass (free membership card) at the time of purchase you also get 5% discount off the purchase price. This would drop the 210 down to $189.05. Unfortunately I didn't know that when I bought mine today.

    • Bought one today for SO birthday. Thanks for the heads up. Rebel wouldn't take the additional 5% off tho. Great price nonetheless

      • Yeah I couldn't find any info to confirm the 5% discount, so sorta expected it when told it wouldn't apply instore.
But after discussing further they decided to honour it so am thrilled they would look after me with an already exceptional discount.
Happy customer who'll definitely be back.

  • Bugger. Did not know that.

  • Yes! Thanks OP. I need to update my 405 and have been waiting for a good price on the 410 or 610. Looks like I'm getting a 410 for $249.
I'd be lost without my forerunner, they are brilliant training aids. I just program all my sessions into it and the watch does all the thinking for me - I just do what it tells me to.

  • Seems they only have white 210's left, at least online. Direct link http://www.rebelsport.com.au/Product/Garmin-Forerunner-210-H…

410 is still there, but no longer at the sale price. Just got my order cancelled because they say they have no stock. A bit suspicious seeing as they are still seeing it. Will pursue and hopefully I can still get it.

      • Update: they've now changed their story from no stock to pricing error. Still going to pursue this.
