Brentsbits - Qi Wireless Charging Receivers for The Samsung Galaxy S3 and Note 2 ($13.50/ $16.50)

30

Hey folks, it's been a while since I posted a deal. I have just started to stock Qi products and these are the first two ones. There are fairly limited quantities available for this first batch. If they go well I will be getting more in. Possibly also the charging pads if enough folks would be interested.

The pricing is as follows:

Galaxy S3 - $13.50
Note 2 - $16.50

Standard shipping is, as always, free. I have also added a section called Shipping to the online store so you can select registered or express post to your order. I am trying to figure out how to get it to be added to the shopping cart but for now this is how I am doing it.

If you have any questions, let me know.

Cheers,

Brent

    Any for the Nexus 4?

It's an adapter to enable other phones to charge using a Qi dock. Now you mention it though, it would be nice if Brent could get a decent dock ie one where the 'phone doesn't slide off, or have to be 'very' carefully placed to enable it to charge, and can trickle charge ie leave the Nexus 4 on the dock at night, it is charged by say 3am, and it maintains the full charge until removed…… How about it, Brent? ;-)

      • Well, I ordered a couple of charging pads in with this order to see how they go with my S3 (that's why there were only 29 s3 receivers available :-P).

The charge rate (from what I can tell) will never be the full 1000ma or anything like that but with my phone just sitting on the pad it's getting 500ma, so that's not bad and would be fine for trickle charging and overnight charging. No good if you need a fast charge after a flat battery though.

For the most part, as far as I can see, most of the pads are the flat slide off ones. Although I have a rubberish case on my phone and it's charging through that just fine. I took the case off and the charge rate didn't increase either so the extra could mm distance isn't affecting the charge rate. The rubberised case causes it to stay fairly well in place.

I'll be seeing what I can do about other phone models, these items are fairly pricey and I need to order stuff in as I can.

  • These work ok for the Lumia 920?
    If so, I'm keen.

    • 920 has built in charging, so only need a compatible dock.

      • oh, there you go. If it's got it built in and don't need a receiver, you just need the pad.

I was just on my way out the door so didn't have time to look into it fully.

    • I don't think so. The contacts for connecting the receiver are different in every phone and not all phones have them integrated yet. The ones that don't need an external case, like the external battery cases you can get.

I will look into it further but a quick look around suggests that you can't get the receivers that go inside the case next to the battery.

Brent can you do a bundle for both receiver and transmitter

    • Not at the moment, I don't have transmitters in stock right now.

  • If you're looking for a good qi charger, get the ones that's made for the Nokia 920. It's using the lastest qi standards which charges up to 40mm away, compared to cheaper (and official samsung) chargers that only do 5-10mm. Handy if you want to hide the charger under a desk.
