Domayne Computer & Electrical 'Moving Out Sale' (Caringbah, Castle Hill, Liverpool, Penrith NSW)

140

Received a flyer in the mail today advertising a 'Moving Out Sale' for the Computers & Electrical sections of Domayne Caringbah, Castle Hill, Liverpool and Penrith stores, with the Furniture & Bedding sections expanding to take their place. I went to the Liverpool store and it turns out that their Computers & Electrical section weren't actually moving out but were closing down. I assume this is the case for all four stores advertised, not just Liverpool.

There are some decent discounts to be had from the catalogue, with the stand-outs (for me anyway) being:

  • Digital photo prints (6"x4") - 9c each (Limit 200 per customer. From digital media only)
  • Navman S35 GPS - $199 (Best price on StaticIce is $233.85)
  • Panasonic DMC-LS80 8MP digital camera - $99 (Best price on StaticIce is $149)
  • Verbatim 1TB 3.5in external hard drive - $177 (Best price on StaticIce is $185)
  • Verbatim 8GB USB drive with swivel cap - $20 (Liverpool instore price - not sure if applicable to other three stores)
  • Various discounted XBOX360, PS2, PS3, Wii, DS and PC games

Other percentage-off discounts from the catalogue include:

  • 30% off all digital video cameras
  • 30% off all fans
  • 20% off all digital SLR cameras, lenses & accessories
  • 20% off all digital photo frames
  • 25% off iPod accessories, speaker docks & headphones
  • 25% off all MYOB & Quicken business software
  • 30% off printers, multi-functions and ink
  • 30% off all wireless networking
  • Up to 30% off flat-screen monitors
  • Up to 70% off frames, albums & stationary (electrical only)
  • Up to 25% off refrigeration
  • Up to 30% off washing machines & dryers (excluding Miele)
  • Up to 50% off air conditioning
  • Up to 50% off ex-display, demonstration model and floor stock cooking appliances
  • Up to 50% off outright mobile phones (excludes iPhone)
  • Up to 20% off vacuum cleaners & dustbusters
  • Up to 25% off small appliances
  • Up to 25% off plasma & LCD TVs
  • Up to 25% off heaters & electric blankets
  • Up to 25% off coffee machines (Bonus coffee beans with every coffee machine purchased)
  • 40% off entertainment units
  • 50% off surge protectors and cables

I'm sure there are some decent discounts to be had from these stores, although do research your products before buying as prices from big stores such as Domayne can be over-inflated even during sales. Other than that, enjoy!

Yeah might poke my head in if the good stuff hasn't been plundered already. You never know what you could find :)

  • How is the Navman GPS $199 any good?

    • To be honest, I don't really follow GPS prices (I'm not sure if anyone would unless they were currently in the market for one), but the Domayme price does beat the best StaticIce/ShopBot price by ~$33 (as mentioned). Also, the Harvey Norman next door was selling the slightly less featured Navman F15 for $199 as well.

So given those two points it seems like a pretty good deal to me. As always, your mileage may vary depending on what you're after in a GPS navigation device.

    • I bought this Navman S35 for $160 from Harris Tech a while ago, when they have the sale on. Check out office work online, maybe they have some cheaper.

Domayne sells everything overpriced, after a 30% discount they will just be normal.

    • Tend to agree, hence my little disclaimer at the bottom. However, although they've marketed it as a moving out sale, it's basically a 'closing down' sale (for Liverpool anyway) so you may get a better deal now as opposed to during one of their normal percentage-off sales.

    • I agree. Have a look through their sale stuff, doesn't look any cheaper compared to other places.

page 3 of same brochure had a Samsung 367L fridge for $598 which I think is quite OK pricing. a quick google shows price over $800, and $599 for a seconds quality.

  • does any one have the rest of the pages of the catalogue?

    • I do (obviously :P). It's basically what I've already replicated in my original post, but I'll digitise them anyway and update the original post with links to them later on this evening.

Edit: Done! See the updated deal for the links.

  • I called up and those that say 30% off all promotion is actually incorrect, its "upto 30% off" as well. Its a bit misleading…

    • Hmm, that's pretty ridiculous if you ask me. I mean, given that these Computers & Electrical sections are in all likelyhood closing down, you'd think they would want to shift as much of their dead stock as possible before they actually have to closed down.

Mind me asking which store you called? As these stores are run by are independent franchisees, it is possble that this is a one-off thing and the other stores may be offering the full discount.

      • It was the Liverpool one…
