  When I install the app, I have to promote the app via twitter/facebook/g+ in order to get the free license… only alluded to in the OP.

    After creating a CamScanner account and receiving an email, I signed in on the free iOS app and didn't have to go through the extra processes to get the pro features.

    I think if you go through the extra steps…link to Twitter, like on Facebook, you get extra cloud storage space.

  Ahh, I logged in from the wrong section. I logged in to go Pro mode, which is a monthly, anuual subscription. If you just normally login then all is OK.

  I have singed up and received an activation link. When I was about to promote this in my G+ profile as said in the activation link page, I received another mail saying that the Pro features are unlocked for lifetime.

  So, I don't think its compulsory to promote it over Social profiles to unlock the Pro features.

  Not getting pro version…obviously doing something wrong :( when I sign in to the app I get a notification 'signing failed' and then I get signed in the next second without doing anything.

  OK. I signed up and verified my email. Also got confirmation that I have successfully unlocked Pro features for lifetime but when I log in my account, it still shows up as basic (both on website and app). I haven't promoted it on Facebook, etc yet.

  What am I missing?

    So I authorised them on Twitter and liked them on Facebook but it hasn't changed. I'll give it some time.

    Same for me. However, I think the account status is still "Basic" to differentiate between the Free/Pro accounts, and the "Premium" accounts (which have a monthly subscription fee and include extra cloud storage).

      OK. I think I get it. What we got for free was the Pro version and not the Premium. And I think the Pro version comes up as 'Basic' while the regular free one comes up as 'Free'?

      So, all good then.

    I think the Pro version doesnt have watermarks on the PDFs created, so create a PDF to try it out.

  Great find OP, I have used the free version of this app for while now and it's a very handy app to have especially when out and about and you need to get documents to someone or if you need to sign paperwork and send it back in a PDF format this app does it all

  After registering a month ago, I finally logged into my account and it went "Pro" although the app still calls it "Basic" but I have 400MB storage so I know it worked. Almost a good as a premium account which I wouldn't even need anyway, awesome deal!
