$3396.60 - O.P. update your listing to include price in title.

Seems to be cheaper than other online retailers. Realistically, if you have this kind of money to spend on a TV, then maybe this isn't the site for you :)

    • +6

What do you mean that this site is not for people that would spend this type of money on a TV. This site is all about trying to save money for all that are members. Not to be judgmental on what people can afford. Great find OP keep them coming

      • -5

        Yeah, no.

It isn't a bargain. No $3k+ 70" TV is a bargain. Guess that's the reason we don't see Ferrari dealership 'bargains' here.

        • +3

it is to a person who was about to spend 5K on the same TV specailly if the RRP is about 5K…

        • +2

          What's that? A Bugatti Veyron for $950,000.00 when it's RRP is $1,000,000.00?!

          BARGAIN!@#!

        • +5

The more expensive an item is the more important it is to find a good price for it..

        • -1

C0balt, if a 50K saving doesnt mean anything to you I'll gladly make use of it!

seriously the 50K savings for someone who is going to buy the car anyways is! even if its not for you! this site isnt called oz "lower/working class"bargain…

        • +1

c0balt, go look up 'bargain' in the dictionary. It's all about getting something cheaper than the normal price; nothing to do with how much money you have available to spend.

        • If I were in the market for one, I'd buy one for $50,000 less if I could and the dealership were reputable.

        • I'd buy a Bugatti Veyron if there were enough +VEs on the deal ;)

        • It would be fair to say that's a piss poor comparison.
My local JB would sell more $3000+ TV's than Bugatti sells nation wide of a $1,000000.00 vehicle.

        • How dumb can one person be?

The more one person uses this site to their advantage the more likely they will one day have the money for such a tv

        • +1

I don't know about you, but all the money I've saved here I've spent here too…
At the end of the day, the winner is the one with the most stuffs - right?

        • Read the book 'kludge'. It talks about how the "deliberative" brain is a bit of a hack to the "reflexive" (do what I want) brain.

Most people will look at bargains with a relative scale rather than an absolute scale.
That's why you see people post things like ios apps that have gone down from $3 to $1. Piddly saving in absolute terms. But if the same bargain were on a TV it would seem absurd, even though you save the same monetary amount.

Sorry guys Price is $3396.60 only

    • +4

      only ?

      • -3

Yes only you can go spend an extra K at HN if you like. Therefore its "only" 3396.60.

        • 'Only' makes it sound like $3396 isn't a lot of money ?

Size over clarity if it's only 50hz. I'd rather get a 400hz 55 inch TV for that money.

        • -2

I dont think 3k is a lot of money for a tv 5k yeah . I paid over 3k in 08 for a 60 inch plasma. Back then it was alot but its about the norm for 70inch tv these days. If you go check one of these screens out with the motion control on they run smooth and fast.

  • +4

$3396 - this is indeed a very good price for Australia.

HOWEVER our USA friends have the pleasure of paying only around $2000.

Panasonic seem to be more on par AU vs US. Whether this represents better value buying is another story altogether.

I personally went for the highly regarded 65 inch Panasonic Plasma for about $2200.

  • Price?

  • The R550 series from Sony really are quite bad TVs, only 50 Hz and the contrast ratio is pretty poor compared to other LEDs

  • think id want a 4K in that size…

  • Price in title!

  • Cool story. Now where is the Price?

  • bought 60inch at $2499 3 month ago.

    • +2

bought the Sharp 70" LED LCD (not 3D) for $2300 about 4-5 weeks ago

      • this sound more reasonable.

        • Great price if your not after 3D. However i am. Would go the 80inch myself but i want passive 3D. At this time i can only find the 70inch sony that does passive.

Would love for someone to to give details of a 70 inch plus with passive 3D

      • Where from? Link?

  • -1

    id rather a 100" projector for 1K…

    • +1

I don't want to turn off all the light to watch TV.

      • yep, fair enough, hence why i said "I'd" differnet folks different strokes, i use my large screen for movie nights, my smaller TV screen for general watching, if i need to dim the room its not a major drama, however if you want to watch EVERYTHING on the large screen then yeah, makes sense.

  • -1

Wow, 10" more double the price. Buy the 60" better.

    • +1

      36% more screen area

  • Too small!

    :)

    • What? :)…

  • Hmm…its pretty big, I guess /HomerSimpson
