ORIGINAL POST
For some reason, Lenovo is offering a hefty $165 discount if you select the "Arctic Blue" display colour when configuring the E330. There are three base configurations on offer - this applies the the i3-3120M and i5-3230M models (the i3-3110M cannot be reconfigured).

After changing the screen to Arctic Blue, the standard coupons also apply. For the i3-3120M, you can use SEPWELC2013 coupon. For the i5-3230M, the E330DEAL coupon provides a slightly bigger discount on the base config, while SEPWELC2013 may be better if you add upgrades.

      nope

  • I'm still sitting on released to manufacturing.

  • Got a confirmation email with E330 released to manufacturing :)

  • Is anyone considering to buy an e330 just in case e531 gets cancelled.

  • The fixed E531, the removed the FHD opinion

    • +1

      Yeah about 8 hours ago…

  • cancellation email on the way…………

  • If they decided to cancel all orders, I am just wondering when I will get my money back. BTW, I have not received any cancelation emails. Is there anyone who have received THIS email?

  • +12

Just wanted to clarify when I initially posted the deal for the E330, it seemed to me like one with a good chance of being honoured. There's a history of great laptop deals based on coupons and checkout quirks (still fondly recall the glory days of stackable discounts at Dell), the prices were great but not off the charts, and I was expecting it to be maybe a 50-upvote deal.

It did become a bit of a worry that as interest surged after adding the E531, it'd be more likely such a large cohort of orders would end up subject to review. On the other hand, the discounts remaining available for such an extended period felt like tacit acknowledgement on Lenovo's part that it wasn't a mistake.

    • +1

Stackable Dell discounts FTW - those were the days! Thanx JtH - you did your best, now the ball is 100% in Lenovo's court.

    • The discount being available for such and extended period of time could be due to the time it was posted which is on a saturday. There might be no one monitoring the website over the weekend. Kinda feel like big company like this should have at least 1 person monitoring their webstore 24/7.
If you remember amazon SSD. It was also posted on a weekend and the cancellation email come out on the monday. Similar with kogan, was posted after working hour, get rectify the next day.

I cancelled one of my orders of E531 today (ordered 2, never got confirmation for the 1st order so I ordered the second one), which went through fine, got an email to confirm cancellation.
Then 4 hours later, my other order got cancelled too, and they claim that I requested the cancellation. What a load of BS. If they won't honor the deal that's fine, but don't lie about it.
It does not look like they will honor the deal

    • +1

Same happened. I called them to cancel E330 order this morning and they cancelled it. Also they promised other order E531 is fine but I just received the cancellation e-mail. What a lie.

"Your order has been cancelled as you requested.

We thank you for your interest in our products and hope we can help you in the future.

      Kind regards
      Lenovo Australia"

      They are lying to us.

      • I am happy for them to say it was an price error and they are not willing to fulfill it. But don't turn around and outright lie. Its insulting.

  • Anyone got a "cancellation" email after a "released to manufacturing"? I would assume that if you get the "released to manufacturing" status, it's a win?!

    • +5

      I envy your optimism

      • +2

In fact I would be happy if I get it… But would also be happy if it gets cancelled, will save me money on the laptop I don't need ;)

  • no cancellation email yet. i think the deal is ON.. ordered E330 i5 $434 .. hope they are not playing smart trick like KOGAN

    • they are worse than kogan. kogan admitted it was their fault. lenovo doesnt.

    • kogan send me a $20 code in email after cancel order

  • +3

    Dear PissLUR,
Your order has been cancelled as you requested.

We thank you for your interest in our products and hope we can help you in the future.

    Kind regards
    Lenovo Australia

    • i got that email too… the only thing (so far) showing as cancelled though are the headphones and shipping….

… but then going through 20k odd orders is bound to make a fun Monday lol

  • +1

They put the blame on us. F**************************

  • Brought E531, PayPal status is pending, money taken from my credit card account and no shipment information nor email cancellation yet.

    • Status pending usually means no money has been taken from your account yet

  • I haven't checked my email yet but on the Lenovo status page….

The base model e531 I bought on the 14th shows 'order processing'

The base model e531 I bought on the 15th shows 'released to manufacturing'

    Maybe I'll get them?

  • received cancellation email too…

  • +2

my status shows as 'customer action'
they are getting creative with the pre-cancellation statuses

  • +1

    Check this out..

    http://i43.tinypic.com/dyoro7.jpg

They cancelled my $1 earbuds order, but not the e531..

    • what's wrong with your shipping?
      Got cancelled as well?

      • yeah looks that way..

what worries me is that they have not accept/reject my paypal "Order" payments to them.

Does anyone know how to cancel this "Order To" payment in paypal?

        • Let's see..
Most of us bought the base model as well.
Hope they can figure it out soon.

    • Experiencing this as well with my order…

    • +7

They cancelled my $1 earbuds order, but not the e531..

You must have got the self-cancelling earbuds.

  • received cancellation letter too.

    • I haven't. When did you order?

      • sunday morning. e531

"Your order has been cancelled as you requested"

i sent an email back to them and requested an explanation, as i, certainly , didnt request them to cancel my order.

as they are lying instead of being honest, i may contact fairtrade, etc.

        • That's terrible.

    • +1

Was this for an e330 or a e531 order?

      • +1

I had 3 separate orders but only received 1 cancellation email with the headset and shipping cancel.
Optimistic thought: They are consolidating orders, so orders get sent together and we don't get multiple $1 headsets.
Realistic thought: They too overwhelmed with cancellations and it's all messed up.

  • +1

How does everyone check their order status? When I click on view order details, it just comes up with an error…

    • +1

      same.

    • +1

I had the exact error message after I clicked on the "View Order Details" link.

  • +1

Orders getting cancelled.. this thread is going to be busy for some time!

    • Have you ordered more than one?

    • It still comes up with an error on that screen, saying 'Your order is currently being verified. Please check back for order status updates.' Doesn't look like it'll go through then :(

  • My status (here: http://shopap.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/auweb/Leno…)

says "submitted". I've order the E531 (with 740M upgrade) but I'm kind of regretting not getting the E330 now :(

  • Says "Order Processing" for me.

  • Just got email.

My E531 is "Released to Manufacturing"

    My $1 earbuds is "Cancelled"

So I'm guessing my E531 laptop is still going ahead? While the earbuds got cancelled?
    http://i39.tinypic.com/2mfdv1c.jpg
    http://i42.tinypic.com/2j6aafl.jpg

Also ordered the E330 laptop, and that is also "released to manufacturing".
Just my order with the earbuds had earbuds cancelled.

    • Same for me. Though they also cancelled the shipping

    • Yep, just got the same email. Earbuds and shipping cancelled but the laptop released to manufacturing.

  • says "released to manufacturing". I placed the oprder on saturday morning and I received this confirmation on saturday evening 4 pm .

  • maybe they just don't have enough stock on the earbuds :P heh.. wishful thinking

  • Arctic Blue Option is not available now . It's been taken off from the website.. only Midnight Black now.
This deal was on for quite long time .. don't know how many people have purchased this.. waste of time if it's not going ahead. 25615 clicks on ozbargain … lol

  • my one say "submitted"
I also placed the oprder on saturday morning
    sounds no good

    • Same here

does this mean the whole order is cancelled or just the headphones?

    • I bet they mean the whole order

      poor lenovo

  • +2

Oh no … looks like someone stole my identity and cancelled my order for me.
I got a cancellation email that "I" requested the cancellation.

Should contact them straight away to clarify this … I did not cancel anything …

    • +1

I got the exact email! Ordered Saturday morning at about 9:30am. Never cancelled anything from my end. Not happy Lenovo!

    • Just checked my email and I got the same cancellation email.
Really poor form for any company to do this without prior announcement/explanation/apology.

This will fuel the growing number of complaints towards Lenovo in Whirlpool forum.

      • My amazon order got cancelled before the email arrived

  • +1

I received an email indicating my request to cancel the order bla bla…..bull! i never cancelled the order. As they cant prove I have requested the cancellation, dont i have a case here at the Fairtrading? As they still did not acknowledge its a price error…

  • +1

Yeah, apparently I also cancelled my order. Why are they causing themselves more hassles?

  • +8

    Dear LAC3429,
Your order has been cancelled as you requested.

We thank you for your interest in our products and hope we can help you in the future.

    Lenovo Australia

    Hi Team,

Bit of a weird one there, but i didnt request the order to be cancelled. Please proceed with the order and i am certainly excited to receive the laptop and headphones in the next couple of weeks. If i don't get a response, i assume everything is fine and proceeding as normal again :)
    Kind Regards,
    LAC3429

    lol…..

  • ?? I ordered two laptops and haven't received cancellation notifications on either 1. One on the 15th and the one earlier after midnight. The Amazon and Kogan debacle has left me immune to this practice.

  • Pretty sure it's just the earbuds that got cancelled. They don't have enough earbuds to give out.

If you read it carefully, just says the earbuds.

    • anyone who did not order earbuds received their cancellation email?

    • My email says laptop released to manufacturing, earbuds cancelled but then it also says that the free shipping is cancelled. Wonder why that is.. =/

EDIT: Maybe they are getting into contact with their factories who have maybe already started the build process?

    • +1

you can still order the $1 earbuds on the website.

  • $1 for noise cancelling earbuds is just impossible.. may be laptop orders are fine but not earbuds for $1 i guess.

  • +1

Im a bit confused now. The total now comes to $335.7 instead of $336.7 so only the $1 ear buds got cancelled? I don't mind getting the laptop only if that is the case XD

  • +1

$1 earbud deal is still being advertised on their website so its BS

  • -7

Guys, give it up! No one is getting their laptop(s). :)

    • -4

      hahaha…predictable neggers are predictable! :P

      • +1

        Haters gonna hate ;)

  • Anyone that has only one laptop order gets cancelled?

    • Yup, mine.
I was an early bird as well.

Annoyingly enough, as I'm typing this, the pricing error is still there in Lenovo's affiliate website.

I haven't had any further correspondence since receiving an email order confirmation on Saturday around 2pm. Order status just says 'ordered - unshipped'.

Anyone else in the same boat?

    • Ordered at 11 am Saturday and still sitting as submitted, no email

  • $1 earbuds are an active promotion. They would have a hard time justifying the cancellations since they are still getting advertised for the same price. Last time I checked bait advertising is illegal in Australia

  • +2

    mine is still "submitted"
    pay via paypal still pending.

  • take screenshots of the active $1 deal, people…

    • not only screenshot..print as pdf including the time stamp..and post it here LOL

  • Got cancellation email; and they said I requested the cancellation…big liar..why they don't admit their mistake.

  • The reason, I think, people are getting cancellation emails stating they have cancelled the order is probably because this is an unusual situation and they are just using their regular cancellation email used when the customer decides to cancel.

    • It doesn'y make sense mate..big company such as Lemovo…before they sending out those email; they should consult with their legal and corporate communication office..CMIIW

  • So order is 'released to manufacturing' and PayPal has taken money out of my account. Deal on??

    • Are the guys getting cancellation emails also the ones with PayPal payments 'pending'? Maybe paypal stuffed up so the order gets cancelled if no payment is sent?

    • What's the status of your Paypal account? Pending or Completed?

      • oh logging into PayPal shows the payment is pending. I was looking at my bank statement that is attached to PayPal and the money is gone from there already.

      • .

  • Only appears to be the E531s getting cancelled this far?

  • +5

    Poor PR. Poor service.

They should respond to all of us acknowledging the mistake and that they're working through all the orders that will likely be cancelled due to a mistake. Does not take a genius to see the error and know that acknowledging up front at least alerts us that they are thinking of being nice, making a concession or something. A group buy option at a price slightly lower than their intended deals would be something, not that I'd be inclined to take them up on it.

It would be something. This is nothing, done in a rude way.

I was impartial to Lenovo, this is giving me a reason not to be.

    • I'd imagine they'd have to respond to several thousand, coz we OzBargained them big time this time round :D
