been this price for at least the last couple of weeks… why is this a bargain?

Or you can just get legit Harbinger 143 for a bit more… http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Harbinger-143-Pro-Weight-Lifting-…

    • Is that what the beefcakes are using?
I've got my serious face on.

        Yes. Yes it is :-)
I used to use Harbinger gloves until I embraced the callouses. They're awesome- made by a reputable company, thick as hell leather, solid stitching, machine washable and only cost about $25 instore. You'll probably burn through these no-name gloves really quickly. Not going to neg, but not really a deal…

    • Thanks zzchatom for the Harbinger link. I had a Everlast gloves from Rebel for ~$40, it was crap, stitching fell apart after a few month use. Now I am using a Chinese-made gloves from DealExtreme for ~$12 which is more durable, stitching only started to fall apart after nearly 2 years. This Harbinger gloves is cheap for a brand name item.

    • Agree harbinger gloves are pretty good and durable.

    • Damn all out of large.

This would be good for someone, not to be a deal breaker, but how is this but than my socks ?

  • Is this what people recommend for dead lifting?

    • Use chalk.

      • Yeah I know people do that but it seems like a waste to use it every time.

        • chalk lasts pretty dam long. I think it's like $4 for a block of chalk and that lasts for ages.

note that some gyms don't like people using chalk and it goes everywhere. I carry mine in a climbing chalk bag :)

        • Could you recommend a place to get chalk?

        • go to rock climbing stores like Mountain Design etc.
You can get the powdered stuff, but blocks are generally cheaper.

I thought chalk is more to prevent slipping when you are holding a bar for example. Gloves is better in preventing skin peeling and callus formation on your palms.

Calluses are free, and serve the same purpose :)

  • I bought 300g of chalk 2 years ago and I haven't even finished half of it. I gym 3-4 days a week consistently. I even share it around.
