$169.00 ACER Iconia Tab A200 16GB 10inch @ Officeworks

120

Was looking for a sub $200 for my relative and found this cheap one. It is not powerful however it is the same for all those entry level tablets. The advantages are local stock and relatively main stream brands. Limited stocks needs to call.

Tegra 2 (Tegra 250) 1Ghz Dual Core
WXGA 1280 x 800
1GB RAM

This is so much better for the price. You're going from entry to mid tier for ~$15 more and accessible by everyone.

Can get quad core Tegra 3 for a little more at EB Games.

  • If i was you i would rather go for a Nexus 7. You can get them for that money brand new on ebay if you look a bit and they are much better

For some people, 7 inches is not enough.

      • To be honest i didn't even realize that this one is 10".

I have got a Galaxy Tab 10.1 and a Nexus 7 and i much rather use the Nexus. First of all i like the display better, it is clearer because of same resolution on different screen size and the weight is a bonus too

      • it is how you use it.

i use my 7" for reading text books on the train - it's a great size for that. it's small and easier to carry than my 10.1" tablet (which i use at home for web browsing and watching movies).

        that's what she said…

  • Epic fail! ebgame deal is so sweet if you are chasing a 10inch, anyone knows how to delete this?

    • You can't delete it. Only moderators can.

    • just "report" the deal and say you want it removed.

  • Nice try OP
    Thanks for trying

  • Call up 2 weeks ago. Shop stated no stock since last year or it's customer return

  • This reminded me i'm still waiting for my $50 cashback from the deal on this at harveys a year and a half ago. Contacted them 4 times, even consumer laws said they can never get anywhere with them… Acer sucks

One thing that is VERY good about the A200 is the fact that it has a full size USB port.

This is great if you want to plug in say your 2TB USB HDD or USB stick and watch media off of it. Also handy to grab a PDF off someone and open it on the tablet. Yes USB OTG is another option, but it's another cable you have to carry around…

Sure it isn't "top of the line", but for the price I think it is OK.

That said the speakers on mine could be louder.

    Cheers
    Wilbo

    • Full sized USB is great. The missus has a USB footpedal for page turning, A200 powers it fine (has small LEDs for illumination of the pedals). Has sheet music on it and can turn the pages without taking her hands off her instrument ;-)

Oh gosh. Tegra 2 and so expensive. I would not touch it!
Those Chinese tablets with quad-core CPUs under $100 would be much better.
I had a Tegra 2 tablet years ago and the lack of NEON is both frustrating and slow.

  • Bought a Galaxy Tab1 10.1 for $240 and installed hacker phone software from XDA-Developers (no GSM voice call facility on standard 3G Tab1). Very happy with tablet now, perfect roamer, meets all my needs (I don't game)!!
