I know that Kogan has a lot of haters and I can't vouch for the quality but they've got 27" (2560x1440) and 30" (2560x1600) for $399 and $599 respectively. Shipping on the 16th and 11th of October + shipping.

Not taking away from this deal but it does open it up to those that are in a different price market.

The Kogan screens (and similar Korean screens available off eBay and elsewhere) are pretty reasonable value. I'm not sure about the 30", but the Kogan 27" uses the same LG IPS panel (LM270WQ1) as Apple (Thunderbolt Display and iMac 27"), Dell (UltraSharp U2713HM) and HP (ZR2740w), although the Kogan panel is likely a B-sample which has failed some performance requirements of those other manufacturers. :)

I think Dell's warranty support (next day replacement at your home/work) will be a LOT better than Kogan's….

Also you are pre-paying for a Kogan with no guarantee of a future delivery date…

These have been down around the $1199 mark in the last couple of months…

'Also you are pre-paying for a Kogan with no guarantee of a future delivery date…'

Again the 27" ship's on the 16th of October and the 30" ship's on the 11th of October.

        • I must say the Kogan price is 'kickass' @ $399, could grab 2 x 27" + 5yr extended wty + P/H + freight protection all for $1,025.44…

        • "Again the 27" ship's on the 16th of October and the 30" ship's on the 11th of October."

Have you never seen Kogan push back a delivery date??

In b4 the "thanks OP, just bought 5" comments

  • Good price on thge Dell. I have the 30" and it is a nice screen. Looks huge compared to a 24" initially, but you get used to it quickly and then see 24" models as being small. :)
As far as Kogan v Dell. You get what you pay for.

  • Thanks for sharing OP

  • I've got the Dell 3014 Rev A01 and A02, they've got scanlines. For the price, it wasn't worth it. I hear they may have ironed out the issues in rev A03. But they might sell you A01 and A02.

  • The U3014 offers some of the absolute fastest latency times of any screen on the market for gaming.

But the current complain is a sort of screen door effect in the corners of most screens.

I've personally got a 30" and can't recommend it for competitive gameplay. It's simply too big, you find yourself lost in it. It's a good experience but if I need frags, I use a 24" or better yet a CRT.

  • You can buy a similar monitor for an half price on ebay(which uses same LG panel)
