  • Good deal but the Soniq deal was better, they were 42" however refurbished, mine came with not a single scratch

    • Yeh that was a better deal. Which I missed :( But some people like Brand New

    • This has a LED screen.

      • You mean the backlighting is led.
The screen is lcd, just like the other one.

2 year warranty on this, so pretty good pricing

i'd save my $100 and go with the soniq

      • I have to agree. $400+ is not a great bargain.

      • With peak energy rates at over 50c I'd check the power consumption between the two first.

Really? I'd be surprised if the difference would be anywhere near $5 over a year without knowing anything about the two. People put unbalanced weighting on power consumption when looking at tv's.

        • A lot of TVs from this year are far more efficient, around 50 to 60W less energy consumed, than models only released a year ago. Depending on a household's usage the savings can be very significant.

this one has 3.5 energy saving star for the same price.

I don't like the way jbhifi have lumped demonstrator models in the refurbished category. Is that standard practice? I could not care less if the box is damaged or there is a little scuff on the tv but I do care if the tv I'm buying has been on all day in the shop for god knows how long.

Good deal. TCL is a reputable brand in China and it comes with 2 years warranty.

I bought 40" TCL last year for $299 at HN (not sure if it was the same one). Had it repaired last week but service was pretty ok.

    • Doesn't sound very good quality if it only lasted a year before it broke down. On the other hand i have an LG 32" LCD tv which is being used daily and that's still going strong 4 and a half years after purchase never failed once. I guess it does pay in the end to fork out for a better brand.

  • I've got a 2009 TCL and it's perfect so far. Acer and TCL- I must be lucky.

The only brand I've ever had any problem with over the years is Sony.

    • Sometimes rumors can kill a good brand so don't always believe the reviews online because they could be paid reviews which contains strong bias.

  • TLC is a good brand in China , Soniq i think it is a JB brand, you dont know which company made

    • Soniq has been around for more than 10 year. I have one Soniq TV and i am quite happy with the quality given the price I pay.

  • It is the same TV but an inch less 39" for 298$ + 24$ delivery

Not a smart tv, but worth the amount, no complaints until now
