Would wait for the new ASUS built Nexus 10. From what we can see of the Nexus 7 it's sure to be a great tablet. I personally find Samsung tablets to be abhorrent from an aesthetic point of view; the current Nexus 10 looks like the POLYSTATION of tablets.

$50 saved Vs Australian warranty? hmmmm

422-379=43, so don't know where you get the 50 from. Besides, Kogan charge $22 for shipping these days.

For $21 you get it from a brick n mortar store and AUS warranty.

        ~ = about…

        • 53 to 47 is ~50, not 21.

Sometime I couldn't understand why Nexus 10 local retailer can be cheaper than Google Play but Nexus 4 the other way.

    • +6

Because the Nexus 4's B&M store was Harvey Norman.

      • HN hasn't dropped their prices yet, even though Google Play did. You can still get stock at HN….

I love my Nexus 10. What I don't love is how Google/Samsung dropped the ball with regards to official accessories. I'm still waiting for a pogo-pin charger dock and official smart cover.

    • You can get the smart cover now .. not a great accessory - but it has been out a few months.
I am still waiting for the stand / pogo plug.

The Nexus 10 didn't get much marketing and wasn't widely available B&M. It was the 7 that got the spotlight.

I hope the next one will be marketed better.

Also, 16GB without SD is no where near enough for such a tablet. You can't put a lot of stuff on that, especially HD video. This is less than most smart phone without SD.

You can get an OTG cable and a cheap USB flash drive to "expand" your memory.

      • +1

That's a pretty ghetto way of doing things. Having things dangling off it is just inelegant.

  • When is Nexus going to wake up and install a memory slot card? When they do, I'll buy one, but not before.

    • +1

They won't, they want you to use their cloud service also leave some space for other manufacturers.

      • If they wanted people to use the cloud, perhaps they should have introduced a 3/4g model as well. Oops.

      • +1

If they put in an SD card slot, people will just buy the 16gb model and expand the memory with an SD card. The sale of the 32gb model will drop

Don't like clouds. They tend to rain on the parade. Maybe I'm too wet behind the ears..

Me neither. Requires an internet connection which won't always be available. Will be slow and expensive if you're using cellular data. Seriously, I'm not going to download a few GB on 3G when I need to access my cloud data.

Also chews your battery and heats up your phone.

But Nexus products are not going to be adding an SD card slot any time soon if ever. Which is why I'll probably stick to something like a Samsung.

  • It was on special price from Expansys for Only $336.95 Plus $26 Delivery last month.

  • This is the first time I've seen this stocked in a b+m in Australia. Sick Smith haven't always had these, a new addition?
