  • Normal price is around $30 at my local Masters, saving is $5.

Seems pretty good, most BBQs galore do full 9kg refills for $20. Better than swapping your brand new cylinder for an 8 year old 8.5kg one at master or bunnings. Last time was there swapping an old out of date bottle some poor guy swapped a brand newy and got the the ulgiest rustiest one in the cage.

I usually just get old expired ones from the tip and swap them at bunnings or masters. They don't check the dates and just test and stamp them anyway. Once the're swapped the new bottle is in date so can go to BBQ's galore or whereever.

    • At bunnings, you don't take your own cylinder. You pay a $25 fee to start and around $22 for the gas. I think only swap n go gas cylinders accept any cylinder.

      • You are mistaken sorry. Any bunnings store I have seen has a swap system.

        • My local Bunnings only takes their cylinders.

    • Any time I've bought/seen a swap and go it's been a decent looking bottle - don't see them refilling the old rusty cylinders for safety reasons (and no one would want to swap for a rusty gas cyl!)

Also not much point buying a cyl at masters then going to BBQs Galore for the refil (unless you specifically want your brand new cyl instead of a good but not brand new one) being that masters swap the 8.5kg cyls for $20 (and before you say you get the extra .5kg from a refill, you shouldn't - the safe refil on a 9kg cyl is 8.5kgs and anyone refilling them should stop at 8.5).
