Telstra Elite Wi-Fi 3G MF60 2GB (30 Days) $39 - (RRP $79) @ JB Hifi

70

Just picked up a Telstra Pre-Paid Elite 3G Mobile Wifi for $39 at JB-HiFi on Bourke St (Melbourne). The RRP is $79. Includes 2GB of data to use within the first 30 days.

JB are advertising it with 5GB but that has now changed to 2GB when you activate - worth asking Telstra if they will honour the extra 3GB as they did with me. Cheers.

Couldn't find it on their website, so have uploaded the receipt.

  • Does this definitely come with 5GB data? This product dropped to 2GB included data recently.

  • JB HiFi had it advertised as 5GB - I will double check once mine activates and I can login.

  • I saw a similar deal in a local newsagents this morning but it was the Telstra Elite Wifi Hotspot Modem (MF60). The newsagent is pretty old school too. Came with 5gb data to use within 30 days.

Hmmm. Seems DSE is $69 and doesn't mention data allowance.

    • According to the OP's receipt the MF60 is what he bought. Perhaps old stock is 5GB and newer stock 2GB? It'll be dependant on what's effectively preloaded onto the SIM.

      • OK just activated and although JB was advertising it with 5GB it activated with 2GB. I told the Telstra rep on the phone and they were able to load an additional 3GB to make up for it for me.. I'll change the title to 2GB included, but worth a shot at asking for more if you need it.

      • I didn't read the receipt. Was thrown off by the word 'dongle'.

You are most likely on the money about the old packs and 5gb. If they are that old, maybe the SIM's have already expired.

  • This has been selling for $39 for many months now… Big W, Auspost, DSE etc. etc. etc…

    • I am looking around Brisbane and I can't find any

      • Because they have been superseded and Telstra don't sell them anymore…

        • Just called JB they still have a tag saying 69 maybe that not the MF60. But I called and apparently they still have this deal. Not sure if I'll get 5 gigs though.

        • The one I bought is the MF60

  • And you can unlock it free now. Only need to update the firmware and patch it.

    • So update the to the latest firmware from ZTE and what patch would you need to run ?

  • FYI, on the deal here http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/118543 the Lady in my office who bought one got the 5GB included data version for $39.00 after GG staff took 1 hour to find the item in store (Brisbane somewhere), apparently they scan at $39.00 so no need to haggle.

  • Just picked one up from k-mart (brisbane) for $29.
