    What is this exactly other than a smartTV adapter? Does it allow me to watch Chinese series/episodes with access to online content? How is the streaming speed?

      Server in HK, go to www.speedtest.net test your internet speed, if it is over 3Mbps, then the speed is good enough for this box, it will run smoothly like YouTube
      It has live Chinese shows and tv series as well

        Some ISP really slow to overseas. Lately I have problem using similar programs on PC to steam live TV from Hong Kong, I am not sure is the server side or my ISP.

        Loading web site seems OK.

    How many Japanese channels does the Niji Show app really provide? Most websites list 7, but there's a demo video on YouTube that shows 20-30 channels.

      I do have one as their sales reach me months ago and tempered me with a sample unit(paid $50 for delivery), I don't know why, it is still not as good as tv pad in my mind. And it is too many trouble for end user, most one important thing is when u press exit in Iplayer, the app do not close actually, it is still running in the background, which made the box getting slower and slower.

        The unit you tested may have been a version 1 production model.
        Version 2 is out now & has vastly improved performance & much friendlier end user usability.

        Has proper android OS ICS [can inst. typical apps], better quality [higher bitrate] & loads channels very fast.

          In the YouTube demo you linked to, all non-HD channels were shown with incorrect aspect ratio. I wouldn't buy this thing unless you're sure this bug can be easily fixed.

      Not all of it does.
      Most of it is chinese and chinese subs only.

      It direct streams, sorta like satelite.

      This is taking into consideration that you leave it on 24/7. HD channels may use even more.

        My tvpad doesn't use anywhere near that much. If you exit the app when you finished watching, it shouldn't be much more than YouTube. The PPS app on my PC, on the other hands, chew up 10 GB a day. It seems that it keeps on doing P2P data from system tray if I forget to go there and kill it.

      Sorry, it is just a standard tvpad3 package, FYI, game control for TVPAD2 cannot be used on TVPAD3, I am not sure whick game control is giving for free, and you might pay $289 with "free" game control as it is never free for us to take stock.

    Just wonder if the recording function can be set using timeshift method? May be this is the deal breaker that I will get the device, as I found due to our geographic location/time difference, it is hard to watch those live programs :(

      Since TVPad2, they have an app to watch programs that were broadcasted in the last 24-72 hr for a number of "hot" TV channels, mostly HK based ones. Effectively their servers are acting as a PVR for all. This obviously won't help if your favourite TV channel isn't one of those "hot" channels.

        Through the VOD app you can only access the programs stored on their servers for the past 3 days. Would be better if it was a week IMHO.

        So you still need to rec your favs if you want to archive to watch/re-watch later. I'm assuming the rec function is for live tv only & not sure if you can rec the VOD streams…

      Hi, our deal is the tvpad3 package only, no other wifi boosters to give. That wifi booster is used to extend your wireless network range. 99% user will never need it. If you have a really big house with full break and your modem is really far away to your TV, then you better use a powerline adapter to get wireless connection.
      There are no Singapore channels.
      Yes, all of them will be preload with popular apps and the deal will be break to do that, if you do mind please let me know.
