Click Platinum

Discount:
17% discount off total bill for 2 years.
After 24 months, your plan reverts to Click Elite (9% on same terms as Click Platinum - you will need to continue paying using direct deibt). No discount is available on final bill if you choose to leave Click Energy.

Payment:
You must pay by direct debit to be eligible for this plan.
If you DON'T want to pay your bills using direct debit, see the Click Superior plan above.

Bills:
You will receive monthly bills via email in arrears. Here's how it works:
• At the end of the first month you will get a bill for an estimated amount of around $50.
• At the end of the second month you get a bill for an estimated amount of around $50.
• Then, at the end of the third month, you get a bill for the actual amount of electricity you have used MINUS any advanced payments you have made

For example…

Anthony signs up to the special offer. He gets a bill at the end of the first month for $50 and a bill at the end of the second month for $50 - meaning so far, he's paid $100 for that quarter.

At the end of the three months, Click reads his meter and he gets an actual bill for $300 for the electricity he's actually used for that quarter. The $100 he's already paid in advance is taken off, so the amount owing is only $200.

When do I get my 17% discount?

Your pay-on-time discount is applied to every bill if you paid the previous bill on time using direct debit. This applies to both monthly estimates and the quarterly wash-up bill.

Click Platinum is NOT available with solar.

Without knowing the rates discount % means nothing.

This is always being promoted by the Telegraph almost every month, its not a deal, you can get similar offers like Dodo or Origin with the same if not better discount.

NSW has regulated tariffs. That is why you get a percentage off your bill, ie the regulated tariff.

    • -1

You might be able to get better discount with other providers but most of them require you to lock into a 1 or 2 year contract.

    • +1

Anything promoted by the evil Murdoch is automatically something you should avoid ;-)

    • currently this has the same rates as other NSW providers from my recent looking

Dodo has 15% off but this is off 'usage'
This 'OneSwitch' deal is off the entire bill (including connection charge)

My current 2 year contract just ended so I am looking around for anther alternative and I haven't seen anything as cheap as this that covers my area in NSW

Any alternatives which you are saying are cheaper?

  • EDIT: Sorry about the terrible formatting … the tabs and spacing didnt turn out as planned :S

I thought NSW if not Sydney has the same kwh, the only real difference is what the volume before they transfer you to the 2nd bracket ie first 1000 or first 2000

I got my parents onto an Origin 23-25% off last year, 20% base, more % for on time, direct debit and having elec and gas with origin

I think they'll laugh at me, when I eventually ask them to extend the 'plan'

    • i am on the same boat as you, the one yr contract will expire soon, do yo think they will offer the same or slightly worse one to keep us?

      • worse of course, i highly doubt we'd get the twenties again.

Just need to make it clear i'll leave if I don't get a good rate I guess.

Small usage households should look out for the dollar off, ie $75 off each quarter deals, they're so much better than a %.

My brother got bamboozled by the 25% off potential, if he'd taken the $xx he would of effectively halved his bill

        • $75 off each quarter??? where do you find this?

        • It was last year it wasn't $75, i think it was more I can't remember.

        • i got $100 off my first bill, which was good for me, but each quarter? that i've never seen…

    • Yes. I'm with Origin at the moment with no fix contract. Origin has the same kwh as Click, but with more generous volume for each bracket. The first level is up to 4000kwh, while click is only 1000kmh (and another 1000kmh for the second) which is closed to 5.9% increase if you go over 1000 but under 4000. Our quaterly consumption is under 1000kmh when we using gas top cooking. But after recent move, we only have electric cook-top…. guess the consumption will even more close to 1000 mark.
But Click is having 17% off here. Maybe it's a time to change.
I'm only interested it because it's no fix contract.

      • My parents Origin are much lower than 4000, its one of the things they manipulate

        • It's interesting to know that they manipulate the brackets.
My previous premises was up to 7000 for the first level. I thought they were standard and they had just changed it after my move….

  • Anyone know of a deal currently cheaper than this?
Dodo is 15% off usage with same kWh pricing but this has % of total bill not just usage

  • +1

Do your own research, never trust One Big Switch. They are just another middle man.

    • I did…
for me in NSW they are cheaper than AGL,Energy Australia or Dodo.. but a decent margin due to the inclusion of a discount on the supply charge.

Was due to switch so my electricity just went to Click and my gas to AGL with their $30 bonus (my gas usage is so negligible that a % discount is worth a couple of $ a year)

      • @SBOB, did you make the switch?
I moved house recently and just got the final bill for the previous premises, the first bill for the current place hasn't come yet. Not sure if it's a good time to switch. I'm with Origin no contract. Very tempt….

        • +1

yep as my energy australia contract just ended and they offered me via their letter a measly 2% discount..
I dont have time/patience to call and whine to companies for a discount and 17% off including connection fee (with the same kWh and connection charges as Dodo/AGL/EE) is better than any deal I could find with my google searching

I also moved my gas to AGL as they have a $30 bonus with no contract and as my gas usage is 95% connection fee that gives me a few months of free gas and I can switch it again when someone like Dodo starts offering gas in NSW with a decent discount

        • 17% off including connection fee
Regarding the connection fee, do you mean the supply charge (Fixed daily charge)?

Yes, I can't find anything better neither.

        • +1

do you mean the supply charge (Fixed daily charge)?

yep… call it what you want ;)
I call it the rip off (especially on my gas, as for a ~$50 bill its $40 of it)

  • Use http://www.energymadeeasy.gov.au/ to compare plans.

Red Energy has a $50 sign-up bonus and Dodo has $25 if I refer you to either.
    PM me if interested.
