  • I've been searching… you can only beat kogan with people selling 2nd hands…

    • Maybe because they're grey imported and no tax is added on?

  • HTC One is older than SGS4, right?

    • +6

It came out a few weeks before the SGS4, but specifications wise they are toe to toe.

      • thanks. personally i like the look of HTC ONE.

  • +20

Could be another price error.. I aint falling for their trick again.

    • I don't think it is price error this time, I got an email on this. If it is $449, then maybe it will be price error.

  • Are you sure about not being able to beat Kogan. Type HTC 801S into the static ice web site ?

    • +1

Here you go: staticice, eglobal have it for $545.00, not sure which of the 2 has a better reputation..

      • $29 delivery for eglobal

        Kogan delivery is $19

        Kogan is cheaper.

Nexus 5 gets announced in the next couple of days. The specs will blow this out of the water.

    • Care to share the specs? Afaik, everything js rumour at the moment.

      • +8

The service manual leaked so I think we can be pretty confident in the specs, Snapdragon 800, 4.95 inch Full HD (1080x1920) IPS display, 2 GB RAM. You can google the rest :)

    • +4

but some people buy the htc one because it works well and looks good. im sure it will feel more premium than the nexus 5

    • Hmmm…looks like it's toe to toe with the Xperia Z1

    • +2

who cares about specs? having owned both a nexus and htc one the htc wins hands down. better more software options, better headphones, metallic body and front facing speakers (huge win when you use them for the first time).

  • Seriously tempting, anybody know if we can get Google Edition ROM on to these?

  • +3

Kogan again !!!! may be another price error ??? watch out …

  • +1

HTC One Black is hard to find in Aus…. pitty it had to be exclusive to Telstra…

  • +2

I sense a lot of bitterness here after the previous S4 non-deal.

  • Tempted mainly because its the black version, hmm…

    • Didn't realise there was a red one, looks ok lol
Plus how many people will have a red one ;)

  • Shipping kills…

    $22.99 to WA.

    • Same to NSW, quite expensive for such a small package

      • thats because its coming from HK

  • Same phone was available for $617 during this deal http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/117761 . If you are patient, and don't need this phone in a hurry, you can still score this locally for a decent price, not to mention a 2 year manufacturer warranty.

    • +1

Yep grabbed one then for my wife its a great phone

  • +7

I think Kogan's error is swapping the prices on the 16GB ($679) and 32GB ($549) versions.

  • It's good to see the HTC One has been holding it's price tag relatively well.

Shame this phone has the worst build quality of it's two peers (S4 and XZ).

Do not confuse it's awesome Design with Build Quality, you will never see two identical HTC One's (unlike iPhone or S4 or XZ/XZ1 etc.)

    • The only build quality issue that's come to media attention so far is 'the gap'. Might be hard to ensure that you get no gap when you purchase online, I would recommend buying in store and viewing the device prior to purchase.

  • +2

Kogan are notorious for not having stock. Beware as they will charge your card and may take a month to deliver your order.

  • Gday mate should I go for the HTC one mini or HTC one? do the speakers have the same amount of grunt? thanks waiting for your reply

    • i recommend wait for the nexus 5 … it'll probably be the same price (or cheaper) and specs will be much better

    • +1

If you feel like you have to pick either the HTC one mini or a HTC One go the One. The One has far better specs than the mini so it will run better, the mini also has a lower resolution screen (and lower pixel density) and it looks and feels cheaper pretty sure it's got some plastic on it rather than the full metal finish. Without a doubt go for the One
