    since no one is discussing the current deal, both are great prices esp for samsung as it is similar to G S3 in build/camera etc worth the buy

    If anyone is thinking of getting the HTC 8X over the Ativ S - don't. The Ativ has a bigger screen, expandable memory and the first unlocked ROM for Windows Phone 8.

    The 8X, as much as I love the design, only has 16GB of internal memory (about 12-13 available) and is not expandable.

    If you don't care about music/videos and other content, then the 8X is a fine phone. But the extra money is well worth it.

      I could not decide between 8X or Ativ S. Liked the Ativ S size but no 4G was a deal breaker. In the end I paid $100 more and went for Lumia 920. My 2c.

        Lumia 920 is a better option than both - congrats on the purchase. I would personally choose that for another $100.

    I have the 8X, it's a nice phone in design terms but on mine the matte finish on the back of the phone has started to peel away. Started peeling around the camera lens, this then leaves a brighter blue plastic exposed. Phone only been in use for around 3 months. Purchased from MobileCiti via an earlier deal. Google search reveals others have had this issue too. Something to bear in mind.

    I bought an Ativ S last deal, and the for SAMSUNG words on the back,the G has already fallen off, not to mention the back of it already has quite a few scratches, even though I have been very careful with it. Not to mention that it arrived with the front/top part above the speaker scratched already. So if you buy it, I recommend a case. Very bad quality phone and feels cheap. But the screen is great!

    I wonder if this is a common occurance?

    I ordered the HTC 8x from MobileCiti last month when they had the previous promotion. I was very surprised to find that the phone box was without a clear plastic seal covering. I don't know if that is how HTC packages the phone but I think Mobileciti was passing off someone's returned phone to me. It left a bad taste and I doubt I will buy from them again.

    Anyone else who has bought the HTC 8x, can you recall if the phone box was packaged in clear plastic seal?

      While your concerns are legitimate, you can buy plastic shrink wrap machines on a pensioners budget.
      Even if it was wrapped, all it proves is that they can wrap them; not that its still sealed.

      All the HTC 8x Blue come with no clear plastic seal, but they are 100% brand new, definitely not the return stock.
