    Also free on iOS too.

    • Thanks unity1.Added.
Both pro versions are Free today with Appgratis

  • What is the easiest way to redeem this if you already have the full version installed?

    • +1

But you already have the full version?

Must say that I love how I can save pinpoints in one device (eg. tablet at home) and they sync to other devices (eg. mobile when travelling) when signed in to the app on both devices.

      • But you already have the full version?

Oops… I meant I had the free version.

Quickest option was uninstall & reinstall. Only hassle is now I have redownload maps.

    • +1

      just open the app…..
      updates automagically….

    • Had to uninstall and reinstall to get the upgrade. Otherwise it was still coming up as $1.99

  • Thanks!!

  • Thank heaps , planning to go to Japan next year , this will come in handy .

    • +2

You wont need these in the big cities in Japan. Wifi at every nook an cranny… just spent a week there and didnt need to purchase wifi… you may need a language translator though ;)

      • Maybe my devices were weak, but we only saw protected wifi spots (Tokyo and Osaka) and open ones that kept dropping out. :( So depending on where you walk about, I guess..

This is such a handy app to have when you are in a country with no WiFi access.

  • Good, good, good..

    • bless you eric arthur blair

does anyone know how to download the maps without going via the app?…. via a computer maybe?

  • Just d/led it. Everything works nicely. Thanks.

A quick question: is there a way to look for POI in my current location? When i clicked the "I" icon, all it has is a list of POI. I clicked the "Wiki Plus" icon and it has a list of names. There is no option to "show me POIs near my location" option.

    • click on middle icon "nearby" - sort by distance - then click on bottom left icon show on map

  • For the Android gurus among you; I am due an upgrade with my network carrier and I am thinking of moving from iOS to Android, even though I am heavily invested in apps in the iOS environment. I have 2 questions:

    1. Is it possible to purchase apps that go free on the Google Play store and when I decide to make the jump then transport them to my new phone?
    2. I imagine this won't work with City Maps 2 Go because the app needs to be opened in order to upgrade to the Pro version?

Borrow a spare Android phone from friend. Create Google account, then purchase at least one app from handset. Later on you can install those freebies that you got, to the new device you buy, as long as they are compatabile with your new handset.

Then from then on just using googeplay via web to purchase freebies as they come

      Hope this helps :P

    • You also may be interested that some companies allow you to get all apps you have purchased for ios, and give you android versions of those purchased apps for free (the ones that have android versions anyway). I'm not 100% sure on the details but it was something that was told to me by one of those booth people promoting Samsung notes in shopping centers. My brother also purchased a Samsung phone (non note one) which came with a leaflet on how to do it and as far as I know it worked well.

I am guessing that was specific to Samsung though. Just food for thought.

edit- was trying to look for a source http://crave.cnet.co.uk/mobiles/samsung-makes-it-easy-to-dit… mentions content only so not sure about apps but I could have sworn that's what the booth person said.

  • Has anyone found a paid/free Assisted GPS app for AUS which is decent?

Don't want to use a standalone gps anymore

not all streets are named… rubbish app

  • Great app, used it alot last year on holiday in Europe

  • Just Brilliant!

    Cheers.

  • I got this app on iPad and it's time to get the Pro upgrade for my Android phone. Thanks.

  • Pretty good app for offline maps accessing before going overseas skip buying SIM card and roaming access.

  • I'm feeling daft. How do I get the pro upgrade on iOS if I already had the free app downloaded?

  • +1

+ve from me for the deal but the rendering is painfully slow (and I have a high end phone). I'd much rather Cache Google Maps for offline reading if/when required.

  • Thanks to OP and unity1 - I have bought the Pro version on Android but have recently moved to IOS. This deal comes at the right time for me!

  • Thx OP.

Dumb question. I downloaded the app before when it was free. Deleted it and downloaded again using the link above. How do I check if I got the pro version now ?

    Cheers

    • Download, install & open the app.
You will get a pop-up message as "you have unlocked the Pro version today with AppGratis".

Few pro features that may not in free version:
▶ Unlimited download of maps with worldwide coverage
▶ Wikipedia travel guide content for all maps

      • Cheers. Somehow I missed reading that part in the OP. Didn't get the pop up message though. But I'm happy anyway

    • Do you have a kid?
Give your device to your kid…

  • Just installed this on two Samsung S2s, one of which is only a few weeks old, and starting getting "please consider cleaning your mac from junk" popups on both phones for the first time. Downloaded a map on both phones. Anyone else? Malware??

    • Sorry to hear of your malware troubles. I have a Galaxy S2 as well. No popups after installing and using.

Perhaps you might like to install an anti malware/virus program for Android, like Avast Mobile or Lookout.

      • Thanks for reply. I will give it a go :)

  • Thanks for the offer, OP! Installed onto my Android device.

If I change Android ROMS in the future and need to reinstall my apps, will I be able to reinstall the pro version?

  • Does this have much benefit over using Google Maps with pre-cached maps? I normally pre-cache a map area before I go overseas. That way I can use Google Maps without internet connection.

    • How can we pre-cache a map without opening it in Google Maps?

      • Not sure if I know what you mean. But before you leave you go to the map area you are interested in, press the options menu and select "make available offline"

  • Wow! this is great!!! Thanks!
