I want to get the $1 Linksys SPA.

How do I order just this?

It's impossible to do it from that webpage!

  • Sorry for the confusion.

If you go to http://www.acecommunications.com.au/services/ace_voip_reside… click on Buy Now and then when filling out the application make sure you enter the promo code of OZB3102$1. Any further questions email [email protected] and we are happy to email or call you back to assist.

  • Same rates as the company http://www.engin.com.au, I use them and they have been great…

  • FYI we are a wholesale customer of engin so support/billing/provisioning etc. all comes via Ace but the call termination goes via the engin network

    • Agreed, I have both Pennytel and MNF

  • Not wanting to get into a huge debate because I believe there are some people who will find the above offer attractive and some won't because of their call patterns. Depending on your call patterns $9.95 per month for Free Local/National calls (extra for mobiles) or $14.95 per month for 400 minutes of mobiles (or 200 calls) could be very attractive for some users. The quality of the actual VoIP service is great and we back it up with customer service that is really prepared to go that extra mile for customers. It's not my place to compare our customer service etc. to other specific providers but I can only say from experience that we have a good number of customers who have come across to us from cheaper providers as a result of not being able to get the support/help they need in order to get their service up and running.

As I mentioned I don't expect the above offer to meet everyone's needs but I'm sure once you take into account the $5 off the VoIP Home plans (excluding the $9.95) that for some people it will suit their needs (and most importantly save them some money).

  • After completion of the contract is there a fee to unlock the SPA3102? If so how much is this fee?

  • In relation to unlocking the SPA3102 our condition on this is "Device can be unlocked upon completion of the contract, on the basis that no outstanding invoices are payable"

  • 'In relation to unlocking the SPA3102 our condition on this is “Device can be unlocked upon completion of the contract, on the basis that no outstanding invoices are payable” '

After meeting these criteria is there a fee payable then to unlock the device ? Eg Vodafone charge a $25 online fee to unlock prepay mobiles after completion of 6 month use.

  • Definitely no additional fee - as in no 'unlock' fee.

  • I've used both Ace and Pennytel. Penneytel is cheap but the call quality is garbage - compared to Ace/Engin's network.

Customer service is extremely good too.

I want to take up your fantastic offer.

However, I have not, and will not, Direct Debit from either my Bank Account nor Credit Card for anyone.

I haven't done this for ANY Telco, Utility, Council Rate Notice, Car Insurance, Vehicle Registration, Fine Payments, Airline tickets through travel agent, etc. And I won't be doing it for Ace Communications.

I always pay in CASH, CHEQUE, BPAY or DIRECT DEPOSIT.

How do I pay by CASH?

How do I pay by CHEQUE?

How do I pay by BPAY?

How do I pay by DIRECT DEPOSIT?

    • Dude. Cheque? wtf is this 1960?
Get yourself a direct debit visa/mastercard. These are not credit cards but let you use the visa or mastercard payment networks.

        Cheque? wtf is this 1960?

        No, it's 2009.

Get yourself a direct debit visa/mastercard. These are not credit cards but
let you use the visa or mastercard payment networks.

        Irrelevant.

I will not give permission for any business to Direct Debit either my BSB & Account Number, or a Credit Card number.

I don't trust anyone to bill correctly. And I certainly don't trust them to stop billing me. I don't want the hassle of asking my Bank to repudiate charges; it's just not worth my time.

I'd rather use a Competitor that allows BPAY, CASH, CHEQUE and/or DIRECT CREDIT facilities. There are plenty out there, for every product and service in the world.

        • your loss then. you do realise there are pitfalls when using a cheque too. In the 90's I wrote a cheque that MY BANK then deducted from my account twice accidentally. It took the bank 2 days to reverse it and in the meantime I was left with a large overdraft. Cash? This isn't an op shop - it's an Internet company selling a VoIP solution. You know… that uses the Internet - what you're using right now. Do you scan your $20 bills and upload them as payment?

            @00:

Do you scan your $20 bills and upload them as payment?

            No.

I go to any Australia Post shop or agency and pay in CASH using the barcode on the bill.

Telstra, Foxtel, Optus, Centrelink and tens of thousands of other companies have this.

    Misleading title

  • +1

Alexportnoy - Unfortunately as it is a post paid product when it comes to call charges and with the margin being what it is we can only offer Credit Card or Direct Debit from a bank account. Sorry I can't offer you another option.

Nemesis - We aren't out to hide anything with this offer but are obviously restricted on how much information we can put in the title. Happy to hear what you think is misleading but I would have thought many offers on here require you to read the full post for all the details.

  • nice deal especially for an unlocked SPA3102 after 6 months
