  • I assume this is 3.5"?

    • I think it is 3.5. Anyway, bought it just now.

FYI the external drive is USB 2.0, not 3.0

    • Some site say is 3.0 with model no. STAC1000302 but HN say 2.0 I am confused.

the 1Tb plugin drive can fit on various bases
        1. Usb 3
        2. Usb 2
        3. Firewire 800
        4. Nas ethernet 10/100Mb
This was the basis of the Goflex system

The HN on offer appears to be bundled with a Usb 2.0 base.

        Quote from cnet review
"Out of the box, the GoFlex Desk comes with only one USB 2.0 adapter, but thanks to its revolutionary flexible design, you can add support for other connection types, such as USB 3.0 or FireWire, with the simple addition of other adapters—though these, unfortunately, cost extra. You also have the option to buy the GoFlex hard drive part on its own and then a separate adapter to form the external hard drive with the connection option of your choice. In this case, we recommend you get the USB 3.0 adapter"

    • Even at 2.0 it still cheap just for storage and not an active had that you transfer to and from all the time. Might take a day to fill but once it full using it is fine.

    • just crack the thing open n it become ur external hdd

i have an order from Friday that is still unfulfilled because HN dont have stock and yet the store said they had stock at time of purchase

Don't believe HN's online ordering system, basically it is only an email system.

  • According to Online store if a store showed stock at the time of ordering and stock does not exist at that store you should contact the store and ask them to source it for you.
According to 1 store if you find it yourself at another store within your pickup range you can ring online store and ask to transfer your order to that store.

  • Just picked mine up (Seagate 1Tb).

It has a USB 3.0 sticker on it.

  • Maybe it's my imagination, but the link to the hard drive is not working…

  • Got mine its usb 3.0

  • I bought one despite $5 promo link being absent. Thought Harvey would give me a $5 Paypal refund but they are devoid of goodwill.
I opened it up and put the Barracuda hard drive in my computer and cut the usb 3 base down in sze to make a usb 3 caddie for all the sata drives out of old computers and usb 2 external drives stacked around the place.
