I've been researching the prices for 3DS XL consoles lately and I've found the 3DS XL Zelda edition to give the best value for money. Considering how the 3DS XL consoles are currently priced around $240 (thanks Pokemon…), $30 for the new game (included in the package) isn't quite a bad deal. This is much cheaper than the UK's £199.99 deal - their consoles also use PAL.

        Various reasons. Once the OP has been edited, they're useless afterward. Hence the 'resolved' posts you see from time to time.
        Maybe people don't like Jv's condescending posts, complete with unnecessary bold text(and caps).
        Maybe people just don't like Jv altogether. All very good reasons.

          I read Putnum's comment as defending you jv. The criticism was stated sarcastically to highlight what would happen to post titles were it not for members - such as yourself - who insist each title complies with the basic format… But then again I could have misread it.

    Wow that zelda edition looks great! but $268.00 is abit harsh on the pocket! Best looking 3DS I've ever seen.

    Just curious, is there any information on what's after the 3DS? Surely the XL means it has reached the end of its life cycle. Any prediction?

      There hasn't been any new rumours of the 3DS's successor. In the past, not too many game companies signed up with Nintendo to make 3DS games…maybe due to a lack of confidence in the 3D hardware? We're seeing a lot of big releases now so I'm pretty sure the 3DS still has quite a few more years to go. :)

      The original 3DS is pretty bad, it has alot of defects.
      The XL and 2DS are good, but neither are portable in the practicle sense.

      I imagine they'll make a 3DSi or 3DS lite with a better design but the same features as the original.

      Edit: Oh he means like a whole new generation?
      No way.
      The 3DS is designed to work with the Wii U, and the Wii U is still just starting off.

      3DSXL is selling at a higher price everywhere else than the wiiu at dse so i guess the price for 3DSXL will hold up there for at least another year or two. As for the life cycle i think wiiu might end before 3DSXL.

      Yep normal price, don't think theres any chance it will go lower as EB have it exclusive in Australia.

      Hopefully Amazon or Game UK have it a bit cheaper?

    I preorded this last week, also the retail copy of the new Zelda (keeping digital copy and the new console and retail game are for the kid's Xmas). It's hardly a bargain though as its an AU exclusive for EB Games.

      Please support the game developers by purchasing titles.

      There was so much rampant R4 activity for the DS that many companies did not sign up for the 3DS.

        the R4 and any of the other cards are not capable of running native 3DS titles AFAIK. So not sure that your comment is valid about companies not signing up for developing 3DS titles.

          I know that if you buy new games you get 7 days return policy that's including if you're not happy with the game. If it's preowned you get 30 days.. That's what the staff at EB told me before. Could've changed but yeah. Might work the same with consoles.

        I really don't care much for the bigger screen, I just want something bigger to hold (I can't play the 3DS too long because my hands slightly cramp).

          2DS is great for bigger hands, although it looks weird.

          I'm 6'4, and the original 3DS was only playable for 15-20 minutes at a time before my hands screamed for mercy. My brother's 3DS XL is admittedly better, but the 2DS is the best for bigger hands, in my humble opinion anyway.

      I think this will be a hot seller, its an Xmas pressie release and the 3DS is in its prime at the moment with a new Zelda and Pokemonz.

          Not at all, use Hori screen covers, they come off without leaving residue, are absolutely transparent and don't scratch easily.

          I definitely won't be using HORI screen covers on my XL.

          I applied a packet of Jap edition HORI covers onto my original 3DS and the air bubbles would not cease! The instructions on youtube and the paper manual said it was fine to use the card to rub out the bubbles…but the screens ended up scratching. For the price of $12, you'd expect a scratch resistance feature but they're no different to your $1 ebay covers.

          They certainly are different. You either bought a fake (the market is rampant with them) or you applied it very wrong.
          If it were a hori you could have removed it and tried again, also you are supposed to do it in a closed bathroom with a hot tap running. That takes the dust pigments out of the air and leaves steam on your screen thus when you use the card to wipe out air pockets the steam helps them to be pushed out.
          I use Hori on all of my gear, many people I know also do without issue.

          I've bought from both and have been fine. I've never had one with a purple tint. There are loads of different types but I usually get the 'screen repair' ones.

All my friends are playing Pokemon and I don't get back down under till early next year so I figure, if they are still playing it by the time I return or some must play games come out, I'll bust it out and let her rip. If not, I'll capitalise on the Limited Edition goodness.
