As above. The just under 1800 price is available at a few places. Also plenty reports on whirlpool of folks picking these up months ago around the 1750 mark, so would expect better now.

      • There's not much margin at all in panel TVs, these are already the value king. Blow away any LED and will beat Samsung's F8500 for contrast and black level. VERY hard to beat.

    • Beware. Worst aftersales "service" ever from these jokers (The Electric Discounter, not Harvey)…

  • As most of Ozbargain seem to jizz uncontrollably at the mere mention of this TV (and it's shapely younger sister), I will presume that to be evidence of outstanding quality, and really wish I had a spare $1797.

Fairly common price and definitely not "The best value TV of 2013" by a long way…

    • What good quality and good value TV would you recommend then? My understanding the ST60 is only ever so slightly worse than the VT60, which has taken top spot for image quality.

    • By a long way?

Let's see your list of panels that beat it for value then.

    • back up your negative vote with a more productive comment, compare deals, and let us know the best value tv of 2013.

  • After breaking it in 100 hours+ the pq on this is amazing. Never experienced image retention and my daughter keeps it on channel 22 all the time. Pair it up with a nice entertainment system and you'll enjoy it even more than going to the movies.

  • "2500Hz field drive for precise moving pictures"
    Seems a bit overkill lol

Perhaps you're confusing (Plasma) sub field drive rate with field/frame refresh-rate?

Jb had this for $1698 during their 15% off TVs sale. As their standard price is $1999

I was also able to get a pricematch from appliancesonline for about $30 less also (they do free shipping)

This is an ok price but I don't think it's hard to get a better deal even if you just wait for another 15% off sale.

I ended up not buying one anyway. But was very tempted to do so.

  • I have been looking at this TV for a while, and have my heart set on the 65" inch version.

60" is tempting but I think I would like to wait for the larger size Dick smith have it for $2599 as a regular price. but have seen it as low as $2299 on sale at myers and DJ's in the past couple of weeks.

    • If you are willing to pay that much then F8500 could be a reasonable alternative

      • F8500 is $2589 at Costco.

      • yeah … I thought so too.. but I have a friend that works for DJ's that gets an extra 10% off sale price too. so i'm waiting for Christmas sales to try and get the TV under $2000
