Visited my local woolworths and saw these small kettle bbqs now half price. There was also 56cm kettle bbqs, were $40, now $20. Natural wood charcoal was on special also, two 5kg boxes for $10. Not a bad price either. Unsure if its store specific,but products scanned at correct prices and had no small marked down price tickets on them.
Same price a couple of days ago in SA, they had spit roasters too but they were full price. Did you see them in your local store? Were they discounted yet?

Although I can't really speak on this specific model, even with a real weber you cant really cook a steak nicely without a cast iron grill. You can get the fire hot enough, but the grill generally won't maintain enough heat for a good sear once the meat hits it.
Your upstairs neighbours will hate you if you do - remember that smoke rises.

My local store is Hastings in Victoria. I saw the spit roasters a week or so ago,but there were none there today. My sister has a small one this size for her small patio area, fine for a couple of people.

How they compare to a real Weber one?
I haven't seen them but I will go out on a limb and say they don't compare at all. Most conspicuously, this is 36cm, a weber is 47 or 57cm depending on the model.
