  • Thank you mate.

  • EDIT..
Never Mind, FF had a plugin update so it didnt work and IE is just plain $hit

  • just signed up. many thanks.

  • +3

Oops, got too excited and accidentally got my first name and last name mixed up :/

    • +1

lol, same here, signed up again with new email id.

      • Actually read both these comments, then went and did the EXACT same thing :/
looks like I'm contacting customer service….

        • Did you manage to get it sorted? I made a typo on my name in my haste to sign up. The profile details page says to contact customer services for change of name. I called and they said I have to fill out a form (which I cannot locate). I called the Sydney number.

Unfortunately I could barely understand the lady due to her heavy accent.

    • Wow.. looks like quite a few have made the same mistake I made. I also contacted cust serv to fix it up but got the dreaded response that my account has been locked.. oh well

  • +1

Thanks OP! So how do we get the card?

    • you only get it after your fisrt stay (and given them your loyalty card number when you stay)

  • Thank you, signed up

  • Do you have to book direct with their hotels thereby paying retail/premium prices, in order to obtain the benefits.

I'd imagine most of us book through wotif or expedia?

    • +1

yes. but not the points. they come with the amount of money you spent on your stay

    • +3

if you book through accorhotels.com, you are guaranteed the lowest rate.
      details: http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/garantie/descriptif.shtml
If you ring an accor group hotel directly, most of them will also honour this at time of booking - but it is up to their discresion.

      • fair enough price match :)

      • I wonder if they are willing to price match wotif mystery deals lol

      • +4

I had a bad experience with Accor and their "price match". I saw a cheaper rate on expedia and phoned their call centre before I booked to check whether they would price match. The lady on the phone said yes but I first have to book through the Accor website and then email them for a refund of the difference.
That's exactly what I did and then a couple of weeks later I got an email saying I wasn't eligible for price match. I emailed 2-3 times asking why I couldn't get it and never received a response. The room was non-refundable so in the end I paid $90 more for two nights in one room.
If you google you will see many others who've had similar experiences. Just a warning :)

  • What about the guys on here that today said their Plat got cancelled with no points and "FRAUD" email?

    • That will be interesting if you've already booked with reduced rate

    • You just need to transfer your points out as you go to your airline account. That way no issues if it happens.

  • +1

Bugger I joined see what happens
How do you get cheap rooms?

    • I booked at Mercure today, just search and see the rate. Then enter the accor number and see that the price should reduce by at least $100.
      Hope this helps.

      • That's because you're looking at a members only sale. Well was a members only sale. General public should have access to it now.

  • "This e-mail address is already associated with a loyalty card."

    • You need a new email that Accor has never seem from you. So each time you do this the account becomes disposable

  • +2

    STATUS:
    Le Club Accorhotels Classic

    WTF??

    • -1

      Ditto.

    • I got "STATUS: Le Club Accorhotels Platinum" in my email.

My email was already registered so I used an alternate one. Not sure if that's related?

  • +2

Seems you need a new (different) email address, if you already signed up to Accor.

    • Seems I somehow lost the few points I already had in my account, as well…..

      • How? If you register with a different email account, thereby creating a second account, the former account should still be in existence with any points previously earned.

        • I "re registered" with my old email address, and seem to have whiped existing points??!!!

  • +3

I am an ACCOR PLATINUM member for almost a year - Had 3 stays in 3 different hotels but NO UPGRADE!!! You won't feel as special as being a Platinum member of Priority Club (where Holiday Inn belongs)

    • +5

you need to stay at one of the higher class hotels e.g. sofitel to get it

      • Not anymore. Free Internet, welcome drink, early check in, late check out and room upgrade if available.

    • +2

I stayed at the Pullman this week and got upgraded to a Suite. It was plush. Free late checkout as well. Also a Mercure in Scotland a few months ago and got upgraded too. But that may have been because they stuffed up our booking. Plus double points. From that stay at the mercure, I go enough points to redeem a USD$60 for this pullman stay.

Also, book through ebates to get 4% back.

  • +1

It worked. Platinum status here we come. Thanks.

  • Thanks OP

  • Your status

    Platinum

    cheers

  • So if you book your room via Webjet you won't get your platinum benefits? i.e. room upgrade upon availability??

  • Worked fine for me - Platinum. Recommending to the other regular travelers in the family :)

  • Didn't work for me… Classic…

    • same..i got classic too :\

  • Got platinum, cheers!

I knew OzBargains would come through. Booked return flights to BKK when the last AirAsia deal came up - $450 return. Was holding off on booking accommodation even though I leave next week.

Signed up, booked Muse Hotel's second best room for 10 nights, hopefully I get upgraded to a suite. Not worth its own post, but all MGallery branded Accor hotels in Thailand and Vietnam have a triple points deal going on (at least in early November).

Trying for a price match with Expedia ($200 cheaper). Don't think they'll do it because of the triple points part of the deal, but worth a shot… the points alone is a ~$300 voucher. That's with a total spend of $1600~.

  • Thanks tinx! Platinum….

  • Thanks OP..got the Platinum for at least 1 year !!

  • Status - Classic. Never signed up before.

    • You need to sign up using the special link.

      • Thx - code was missing - all good now.

  • +2

    signed up last time
been getting spam calls from them to join there VIP club
pay 350, get one night free stay anywhere

    • Same here. They get very aggressive about it.

I found the platinum status to be a hot waste of time. Stayed in 3 of their hotels in the time frame and all were "ineligible" for benefits. Mostly because they were all in areas where Accor had a monopoly

  • Got Plat for me and my wife…thanks

  • Worked. Platinum again until Oct 2014. Just used a new email address. And Platinum gives double points per stay so more QF points if that is what you are after as well.

You can also set-up auto-transfer to your airline account. That way if account closed your miles are already safe

    • Qantas FF not available

For those who did not get platinum, it happened to me too. I noticed it didn't auto insert the promocode.

    Second time it did.

Make sure the code is there.

    In case it doesnt appear:
    MASTEBPLATTURK14

    • Mine didn't auto-insert - i assumed that anyway and made sure i pasted it in

  • Regardless of which Gmail address I enter (none of which have been registered before), I get:

Invalid identification. Please try again and make sure the information you enter is correct. E-mail addresses with @accor.com and related domains are not accepted.

    • I got that too, but I managed to get it worked. Just click the image on the top of the post.

  • Not only gmail, but hotmail and yahoo accounts:

Invalid identification. Please try again and make sure the information you enter is correct. E-mail addresses with @accor.com and related domains are not accepted.

    • Before I entered my [email protected], and It worked, but then I entered my details and the below came up.
I tried again with my [email protected] address, and Invalid identification. Please try again and make sure the information you enter is correct. E-mail addresses with @accor.com and related domains are not accepted.

  • I tried to register using all my email addresses (yahoo, gmail, hotmail) but none worked!

Invalid identification. Please try again and make sure the information you enter is correct. E-mail addresses with @accor.com and related domains are not accepted.

  • Looks like congestion is the problem. But persistence pays off and eventually you should be taken to the next link:

    https://s-leclub.accorhotels.com/enrollment-light-form-loyal…

  • so what do you do if you already have an existing leclub account? I can change the email address but the name details and what not will be the same. any issue there?

  • Got on and registered without an issue - code (MASTEBPLATTURK14) inserted automatically, platinum confirmed. Thanks, OP.

  • Yep, platinum confirmed on the website but yet to receive confirmation email. Anyone else yet to receive an email from them?

    • Got my welcome email within a few minutes. Maybe check spam?

  • Just be mindful, earlier this year I sent an email to merge an old accor card which had been downgraded from platinum to blue, to a new platinum card, which I have managed to do no problems previous years. However this time I got some email back saying the new card was invalid and cancelled due to getting it not legitimately. I called up accor and they said they were cracking down on all these platinum cards that had been obtained via other ways. So if you have points on an old card, might be better just to leave the accounts separate….

    • how do you leave it seperate if all your details are the same bar the email address?

  • is there an expiry date on the card? or does it last you forever?

    • 1 year then it you haven't reached the required stays to maintain, you will drop down to the appropriate level. Which in most cases is blue (lowest) lol

      • -1

wow, thats crap haha! what is the required, if you know?

  • something like 30 days of stay to retain platinum :-) You get the card posted after your first stay. so the first time you check in, just bring the emails with the card number on it and you will get all the upgrade perks. It does work in most of their hotels. From memory I got no benefits from staying at Mercure, except the points. Novotel upgrades were definitely worth it though!

  • Thanks for sharing. Successfully joined as Platinum status. :-)

  • For those who've successfully joined, when is the membership valid till?

    • Oct 2014

  • I booked a hotel to stay in Macau S.A.R for Jan 2014 (last week on a the classic account) I now have the platinum level on a separate account, anyone know a way to transfer hotel bookings to other accounts in-order to receive the benefits included with a platinum account? (i cannot cancel the booking because of a 40% off sale deal)

  • Thanks OP - status Platinum :)

  • Got it working finally. All good, thank you :-)

  • hey gmailers, i managed to get mine working although the server was a bit tedious. just wanted to remind those of you who used your gmail address last time that you can simply add a . into your gmail and then accor treats it as a brand new address (but the emails will go to the same place).

so [email protected] becomes [email protected] or something, and away you go!

    • Worked like a charm for me, thanks!

  • can non australians sign up as well for this deal

  • +7

Went to sydney Sofitel wentworth, mentioning Le Club Platinum card,

asked for upgrade : sorry we can't
asked for early check in: sorry we can't
asked for late check out: sorry we can't

and got NOTHING, this is BS…

IN AUSTRALIA, stay away from sydney Sofitel wentworth this shit hole!!!!!

  • Awesome. Was just about to book 8 nights at a Mercure in Indonesia. Now I can get free stuff too.

  • Amazing benefits. Thanks heaps OP!

  • Thanks. Now have platinum status. I have also added the iPhone app etc so I won't forget my settings. :-)

    Regards
    Daniel

  • signed up, thanks!

  • Accor Plat is pretty average…but then you achieve that status in a few minutes not 60 stays..I have had plat status for nearly 3 years and as mentioned above use a different email address and you get a Platinum Membership. Lots of hotels within the group in Australia do not participate in the program..eg Sofitel Wentworth Sydney, Sofitel Brisbane, Sofitel Gold Coast etc..Melbourne is very good..they will upgrade you with the free gift and now they even allow you in the Club:-)..Thanks for the post.

    • I stayed at the Sofitel Wentworth Sydney only a few weeks ago, and they participated just fine—got a room upgrade, and free gift. Not sure what you're talking about.

  • Just tried to sign up and the website is "temporarily congested", and asking me to try again later. Grr

  • Beware they will lock your account after you had some points saying you are not targeted for the promo code, beware !

  • Looks like code does not work anymore
