    FAT or SLIM?

    • Looks fat to me, but you could always crack it open and pull the hard drive out to put in a slim

    • fat. just have a look at the pics..

    • Ok I have had a look. I have distrust of merchants when they don't specify the casing under the specifications, or details of the item. A photo could be generic pulled off "XBOX 360 120GB HDD" could be slim, could be fat. I don't see why my question was negged.

  • Can this be used on a PC?

  • Shame its not a bigger one, I need am update from my 120gb

  • Dang, I need a 320gb to fit all my games since they started the awesome GonD sales, not to mention free games for gold. Perhaps I'll buy a few of these and then theme hdds by genre?
I need one for rock band dlc, one for my fighting games, one for action… Etc.

  • Are there still XBL bans for using non-genuine HDDs?

    • There never has been..

      • Was under the false impression there were. Seems like a lot of conjecture but nothing substantiated.

Yeah, I see them a lot of people asking the question in Youtube comments but I've never heard of such a case. From what I've seen so far, it's perfectly safe.

You can buy a Western Digital 320GB 2.5" internal HD from MSY for $49. You can use it for either a Phat or Slim console. NOTE: It has to be a Western Digital HD.

The entire process takes around 10-15 minutes. You need to configure the HD for an Xbox OS which isn't hard. Then you need to put it on your Xbox. The process is much easier for the Slim.

If you need more help, I can link you to a few videos. Just search for 'western digital xbox' on youtube. You'll get the program files to modify the HD and there are videos that will show you how to put it inside the Xbox. I've done it for both the Slim and Phat console just a few months ago. It's really not hard, and for $49 you can get 320GB of space from a RELIABLE hard drive that will probably not fail as easily as the ones Xbox provide.

    • Cheers. I will definitely look into this.

  • Entered the coupon code, lowering it to $29.99 but I'm still getting a shipping charge in checkout ($10.85 by Hong Kong post). Is there something I missed?

  • Would this allow me to buy games then copy them to the hard-disk, or would the the Xbox console have to Be Modded.
Not sure how this all works looking to buy an Xbox for my son, I know very little about them.

It will allow you to buy games and copy them to the disc - but the original disk will still need to be in the disc drive. Alternatively, it will let you (pay for) and download games onto it too from the XBOX Live Marketplace.

It won't enable piracy or give you "modded" features though. Have to look elsewhere for that.
