Descripion Below.

Ergonomically designed, the TSU9200 offers the best of both worlds: a familiar remote control look-and-feel with an easy Pronto interface that is a snap to program. Designed for ease of navigation with just the right balance of hard buttons and on-screen interfacing, the TSU9200 displays essential actions like Watch a DVD' and channel icons right on the LCD screen. Fully compatible with all IR devices, the TSU9200 is full of functional design details, like handy white backlighting, laser-engraved tactile buttons to prevent wear, and a subtle minimalist docking station that doubles as a battery charger. Like other members of the Pronto range, the TSU9200 is one-of-a-kind' remote control that integrates everything from home entertainment systems to PC-based digital music libraries.Instead of operating your components one by one, activity based control blends the most commonly used functions into activities such as "Watch a movie" or "Listen to CD". When a user selects 'watch a movie', rather than having the end user address each individual piece of equipment - such as DVD player, TV and multimedia receiver, one button holds all necessary commands to be able to start watching a movie: switch on the TV, switch on the amplifier and select the right input, switch on the the DVD player and start playing. The 2-way RF communication incorporated in the remote and the USB dongle provided with it, ensures the content of the PC is transmitted to the remote. So, no need to turn on your TV or monitor to view the menu and select your favorite files. Activities to control multiple devices with one button press The perfect key layout for optimal home theater control Control hidden equipment and devices in other rooms Navigate your music files without using your TV/monitor Compatible with Media Center Edition, WMP10-11, iTunes 6-7 Database

  • lol I thought I was seeing things

$150 bux USA on amazon so $99 is a good price

  • +4

lol. that price was prob from when it was released in 2008.
I should sell my NEW IN BOX 10YEAR OLD PLASMA…. 2nd Generation Awesomeness for $100…. RRP $10,000.
Before anybody points out to me that maybe a typo since i forgot 2 zeros…. It isn't… All yours for $100.

    • Why did not you use it and kept for so long? I feel sorry. (for the TV) :(

      • if i payed $10K for a TV i would use it for 30 years…

    • Being in this forum hard to believe this. You wouldn't have paid more than $500 for a TV

    • I remember selling a guy an Standard Def LG Plasma for $16,999.00…(pretty sure I gave him at least $500 off) The price of early adoption…

  • $1k+ for a remote control? I'm assuming it can remotely start my car or flush my toilet?

    • +3

pretty sure it could if you remote enabled them :P simple arduino kits should do the job nicely, or you could get one of those japanese talking toilets lol
(in places where very sub zero temps are common place, remotely starting your car is a pretty normal thing to do, let it want up before you have to go near it lol)

      • +2

MMmmm…. I could remotely get the Japanese toilets to warm up the seat first on a cold winter morning… luxurious..

        • AAhhh…bidets…yes…freshly washed butts…

  • What does the extender do? Why is it useful?

    • +2

It allows you to hide your equipment(inc pc) away in a cupboard or even another room, and allow it to still be controlled from the remote

      • Like a $29 wireless mouse and keyboard?

  • +3

$29 Postage to Brisbane, pretty much a deal breaker for me mainly because It shouldn't cost that much for shipping - 7 mins from CBD, Business address.

These were in best buy (USA) last time I was in LA for $150 USD so I feel its an inflated markdown IMO.

I am back in LA LA Land this xmas and I imagine they will be cheaper with seasonal sales etc.

    • -1

That would have been for remote only, not the extender also.

      • how can you be sure it was just remote only?

        • Call it women's intuition

      • +1

I don't recall, will check it out when I am next there…it will probably be $50 next time as I am pretty sure its a clearance product.

Shipping was my main gripe, who is your freight company? I would expect overnight delivery for $29, Its pretty pricey for what is a relatively small package (Compared to the rest of your range).

  • Hey Rep,
How many devices can it control?

    thanks

  • shame it doesnt support OSX… if it did and had free shipping, would of bought.

  • +2

Come on man, if you are going to exaggerate, at least be a bit modest about it. Seriously, $1199 down to $99.
Seriously, i wish people like you would stop thinking that consumers are idiots and believe everything you say (well most of us anyway).
Most people would know that this is quite possibly not worth the $99 nowadays let alone your RRP of $1299.

    • Rep you're dealing with PRO's here…All Ozbargainers can smell a fish 000's of miles from the sea……….

    • I'd go for it if it was $999 to $99 or $1199 to $100, 'cause I believe everything I read; but, 4 digits to 2, no way, can't be right. Probably an innocent and inadvertent misprint by the REP.

  • Please clarify if this product can turn on and control TV set, TV channel, DVD player, iTune and AV speakers just by using one button ?

  • i had the original Pronto(TS1000) and it looks nothing like this one! it was a chunky wedge shape with a large backlit lcd touchscreen, the reason it was so expensive? you could fully program it however you liked, on a page you could have one huge square button or dozens of round buttons, links to pages, graphic skins, macros up the wazoo, etc i didn't pay the silly RRP, got mine for $50 2nd hand from ebay, sold it but i think i still have the RS232 data cable somewhere…

    Hey Rep,

That is a LUNATIC RRP like most other products at your store & online.
In terms of your service in-store, it is needs a lot of improvement!

    • +1

Yeah he shouldnt have said the RRP was 1199. But it is a bargain.

  • PS: the prontros sh-t all over the logitech for those who want to configure things THEIR way rather rather than logitech's way. They always were massively overpriced though.

  • Worth a shot for this price. I have a 4x HDMI splitter and two other HDMI inputs in use on my TV, as well as optical, analogue and DMPORT sound outputs (making the most of old equipment) so this should make it easier for guests to be able to play a movie or a game.

  • Hey Rep.

How does it communicate with the other IR devices?
I read that it has 4 addressable IR ports and 1 addressable IR Blaster.
    What exactly does this mean?

ie I have a TV and Wii at front of room and XBOX360, Amp, DVD/BluRay player all to the side. (5m away in cabinet)
Where whould I position the extender such that it could communicate with all devices (except for the Wii)

    • I'm guessing that the 4 IR ports ar for the leads that have an IR emitter at the end.
      How long are those cables?

      • I am a bit confuse as well. I think this bargain remote control is so powerful it can turn on and off every IR and/or RF devices including computers and your phones with one button…this could be a "WoW' in Christmas party. I think IPhone should be alright as it don't have IR or RF receiver.

  • Sounds good and I'll buy one if there's a more realistic title for the post. $1200 RRP is just taking the pi$$

  • Audio trends has just the remote for $590 normally $1098

    http://www.audiotrends.com.au/Philips_Pronto_TSU_9200.html?a…

so this is a bargain for the product… but not saying the product is worth its RRP.

  • +1

Sadly the Philips Pronto business closed down a couple of years ago

    http://www.engadget.com/2010/11/01/philips-will-dicontinue-p…

  • Is there a PCX9200 as well in the package?
    If yes I'll buy 10.

  • +1

RRP is RRP, so i am not sure why people are taking this so seriously. Some companies have stupid RRP prices. (Kathmandu is one company that releases a product with a high RRP to only discount later.

This store is just a reseller, so is only going off the original RRP (and with the typical rip off Australian mark up).

    Original US prices here…..

  • Any Linux support? I use rhythmbox mainly, and VLC

    Got one, Thank You

  • Mine arrived today but doesn't work on Windows 8 which makes the remote redundant. Anyone else get theirs working?

    • have you tried using XP in a virtual machine on your Win8 box? … it worked that way for me.

    • Got it working after installing Win XP, but the database is woefully out of date. I have no idea what remote codes my TV and surround sound operate on
