Ahhhh wish it included the 4th gen!

Agreed….its a bit Lameovo…I'm going to wait till the Haswell lineup has some reductions

    • Yeah. My current T410 would be fully depreciated by January next year which means I get to buy a new computer :) Hopefully there will be some discount on T440p then.

    Price error again?

    • Seems a standard lenovo tiered sale to me, have you found a particular pricing error? Doesn't seem to stack with free tablet offer.

Every ozbargainer should have been familiar with Lenovo's reputation for its "price error" trick

    • Well. This is their advertised discount. However you never know that you might discover some price configuration error like last time. The coupon code from the previous incident was also an advertised discount code. However there was an error in customisation where upgrading the display actually brings down the price.

    What is LAMEOVO?

    Baby don't hurt me,
    Don't hurt me,
    No more.

I'm also surprised by the high costs of their haswell ultrabooks, particularly given the time taken for them to arrive. $2.5k for a reasonable haswell configuration in the T440s. They had better be good for that price… competition is hotting up.

    • Take the X240 for example..they've actually jacked up the price by several hundred dollars, removed a lot of features (second RAM slot, trackpad buttons, expresscard slot)

Still getting a miserable hard drive when competitors all have SSDSs

..Why is it more expensive when Ultrabook prices are dropping all around it?

      • Not to mention they forgot the most important option for X240 — 1080P IPS display. It was announced but somehow absent from the Australian market.

While it does not seem to be "cheap" comparing with the cheap Ultrabooks out there, the competition (business ultrabooks — Dell Latitude 12 E7240 for example) is even more expensive. And which Ultrabook has an VGA out?! Yeah I know it's 20+ old technology but most data projectors I have access to still take only Dsub.

        • I get where you're coming from, I'd just rather have the older model and ~$400 in my pocket. Might need the heavyish 9 cell to match the battery life but otherwise it'll do everything for less

The lack of trackpoint buttons really rustles me.

  • Went over to check the Helix prices out. The current i7 Spec has been $2,099 (I've been checking almost every day). Nice to see it back up at $2,749 ($300 cash off down to $2,449). Even the other option for me (Carbon X1) has been as low as $1,500 during Click Frenzy for the i7 Spec. These prices do seem more inflated even after discount than what has been on offer recently, particularly as this is all 3rd Gen stuff.

  • Argh no W540 :(

    You have been warned

Not negging purely because of Lenovo, the weird anti-lenovo posts -> I understand where you're coming from, but can you please do it.. in a proper manner?
Just sharing my experience with Lenovo, from the price error incident, refunds - Understandable. However, it took me 1.5 months, bouncing emails back and forth for updates, a few phone calls, to get them to issue a cheque for the refund. Six WEEKS.
So if you're afraid of your order getting cancelled - don't use bank transfer or you won't see your money back for a very long time.

you should always use paypal if you have the slightest doubt about a purchase.

    • who is not having a proper manner?

      • Making strange poems with no actual story behind it..

  • the coupon code doesn't work for the lenovo e431 :(

  • You guys have a nerve posting on here ,Why dont ozbargain ban these guys on here.

    • are you accusing scotty of being a lenovo rep?

Personally I was indifferent about Lenovo but the way they handled the price error was beyond ridiculous. They even screwed over non involved entities!

  • Worst customer service ever

They haven't refunded my $337 yet from the other price error !!
