  • If only they were gig ports..

    • I know it's $49 not $19, but these are a pretty sweet deal for an N750 dual band + gigabit - http://www.msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=10790

      • $49 is not bad… but I thought I read bad reviews about the WD….

        • might not be of any help to you, but i picked up the $5 WD from there past sale. duel band but only 10/100. has been working flawlessly since. running openwrt.

          Model WD My Net N600
Firmware Version OpenWrt Barrier Breaker r38205 / LuCI Trunk (svn-r9909)

        • no wifi drop-outs?

        • My N600 has been running for 5-6 months without a single issue at all using it as a 5Ghz AP, that's even on stock firmware.

        • no wifi drop-outs?

          not one.

        • I'm running the same one as well, but getting occasional drop outs here and there, but i'm running this as an access point, and most of the time the issue mentions, trying to obtain IP address and the wifi won't connect. Otherwise for $5, I'm happy to switch it off once every couple of weeks. I have nothing connected to it via Ethernet, all wifi.

        • Could you post the link to download the dd-wrt firmware for the WD NET600?

        • No DD-WRT firmware, only OpenWRT atm:
          http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/wd/n600

  • That PC World review seems to be for a different model router

  • Too bad it is incompatible with DD-wrt. http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Known_incompatible_devi….

    • Why do some people have such a hard on for this oddball firmware. For the messing around, I don't see the benefit for everyday people.

      • Why do some people have such a hard on for this oddball firmware.

probably caus some of us are a little more advanced than still trying to work what wep is and why it needs a key :)

  • So would this out perform my technicolor tg587n v3 that bigpond gave me for my ADSL 2 connection?

    • -8

This model does have an ADSL2+ modem built in.

      • -3

So is this a modem router ?

      • +3

Is there anywhere in the description that says this is a modem too? It's just a router.

      • +2

If you look at the ASUS website. there is a picture of the back of the router.
There is a blue port which you plug in a modem.

If it was a modem/router that would be a telephone socket, not ethernet socket

        This is not a modem/router

      • Does not* sorry

    • Honestly if you're not having issues with your current router then you don't need a new one.

  • Does this have bridging functions? (not expecting at this price)

    • Looks very basic.
