LED Downlights 6Watt, 4 Pack $20 at ALDI Chadstone

80

ALDI chadstone (and maybe other stores) has 350 lumen LED GU10 downlight 4 packs for only $20 reduced from $35. A technical review is here at

This is very cheap for LED downlight bulbs. They are 3000K colour temperature (warm white in everyday terms), 36 degree beam angle and will use far less energy than halogen bulbs.

  • These are good lights. I bought them on special a few months ago. They perform well.

Bear in mind though, the 36 degree beam angle of the LED is a lot narrower than your standard 60 degree 50w halogen. Also 350 lumen is only about half as bright as a normal halogen.

  • I use these in the kitchen and they are good. Better if you have lower ceilings but still OK with high ceilings.

Certainly a lot better than a 35 watt halogen and only marginally lower output than my 50 watt halogens.

  • +1

Please get rid of the space between the 6 & 5 its annoying me.

  • Got these in the hallway, and kitchen over bench, they're great.. just have to see if they last now

  • Any MR type? When they were released there was.

Anyone know any of the Sydney stores still have them?

    • No MRs left at Chadstone. Pity as I would have replaced the bathroom ones. I installed the gu10s yesterday, work fine, a bit whiter than the halogens but ok. And now, what to do with the old halogen bulbs?

      • Send them my way for the tenants I have, they stump up for the electricity. Tbh I wanted to put LEDs in to save me going back to change light bulbs above the stairwell, pain in the arse majorly
