  • after getting a PSV yeseterday, i realized the remote on the wii U basic is basically a psv. touch screen, huge screen, little joystick

    • Except it's irreplacable because it isn't sold separately (even though they said each U can support 2 gamepads) and you have to go to Nintendo instead which charges a lot of money for another one.

      • What heck are people doing to break theirs O.o

        • Dropping it? Or just wanting a second gamepad? No games support 2 pads right now, but the capability is there and some day it will. And will they start selling pads separately when that time comes?

Game pad costs $140 or $150 to replace, and that's in USD. Nintendo Australia will charge the "aussie tax" on top of that, so maybe $180-200. They sold me component cables for $47, and I had to buy them because they were the only ones selling them (not available at retailers, can only buy direct from Nintendo).

    Read that as:

Just found this in the toilet paper

    • LOL Kinda my intention

      • At least there's some use for catalogue deals that aren't worthy of OzB- use it to wipe ur butt. Now that's making a statement! Sustainability at its finest.

  • Eh… it's no Dick Smith deal unfortunately.

    • While it's not a great price, people really need to remember dick smith prices were once off clearance prices

      • Yeah, it's true. But you know… a bargain is a bargain!

        • Yes, but your comparing an Apple to an Orange and complaining the Apple isn't as good as the Orange.
Thats what Tal_Shiar is pointing out. Not all bargains are created equally. Or in stock heh.

        • Well, the base pack has been discontinued so this is effectively Targets "clearance sale" for them. In this case, a direct comparison to Dicks clearance sale isn't unreasonable! Also, unlike other Dick sales there were actually plenty of Wii U's to go round when Dick cleared them. I think they changed their policies so staff can't grab all the stock.

        • I think they changed their policies so staff can't grab all the stock.

Like that's gonna stop them…remember they're 'Professionals' too.

    • at least target "has stock" allooo … alloooo ….

    • I'm only going to regret not getting one from DS once Super Mario 3D World is released.

      • They went fast I doubt you could have got one if you tried - I know I did and failed.

        • They still had White ones when I went; but yeah, pretty glad I didn't pick one up still.

    • Keep in mind that unlike the Dick Smith deal you're also getting two games, a sensor bar and a Wiimote as well with this one.

  • I thought they stopped selling the basic bundle, replaced it with the premium bundle for the same price?

    • Most likely Target clearing old Basic Bundle stock.

If this is a clearance price I'm not super impressed tbh. It would be a decent deal if it was the premium for this price.

    • -4

I thought they stopped selling Wii U from day one in general? Well that's what the figures look like.

      • They didn't stop selling it. People just stopped buying it. There's a difference.

As long as the retailer buys it, Nintendo gets the sale. Whether retailers can shift their stock or not is the retailer's problem.

Good deal for a good console. Lack of games is dissapointing but they are finally starting to roll them out, little late but finally.
Super Mario in a few weeks, Smash Bros early next year, Monolith X, Bayonetta 2. Overdue but I look forward too them.
