Specs for the notebook below are well worth the extra $100 over this deal. i5 Processor, FHD screen, 4GB RAM, 64GB SSD.

that ones crap, doesn't even take a sim card…even my mobile phone takes a sim card! shame on you samsung!

    • That one isn't a tablet…

      • That Samsung is a convertible.

        • My bad, I was just going by the description on the page linked. A little odd that Dick Smith doesn't mention it though…

    • It's a good pirce for the Samsung but can't find any stock around Sydney.

  • not worth it, i have used it and surface is faster than this ausus or any other 3rd party tablets. i have used surface pro2 and surface2 they are far superior to the 3rd party tablets in market.

    • +1

I believe surface pro and pro2 would be better (and more expensive as well), but I wouldn't compare surface and surface2 to the Asus… It's like comparing apples to oranges. The Asus can also do a lot more than the Surface/Surface2.

    • Please elaborate on why better/superior to allow people to make informed decisions based on reasons and not a statement.

    • Surface 2 = Windows RT = lame and crippled Windows lookalike operating system. This Asus runs full Windows 8.1, so there is no comparison.

  • has anyone got it from last awesome deal and doesn't like it,pm me then ;)

  • MSY also sell it 499.00 if it's more convenient for you.

Served a customer yesterday at OW who price matched this. She took it home for $485.

becareful if you use telstra internet, some modems of theirs aren't compatible with this new OS at this point in time.

  • Does the SSD use mSATA?

  • I bought it from Officeworks for $488.20 with price match.

I would say I am happy with this item. We considered of Surface Pro/ Pro 2, but this transfer can perform what we need.

I use Bigpond internet, so far no issue at the moment.

    Happy with this purchase..

    • P.S: I was so worried that this could have been RT as I couldn't locate window 7 alike screen. But, this model runs 8.1 full screen, battery isn't charged, so require charging 8 hours in first use. Most of Officeworks in Victoria sold out this unit as I contacted this morning. Ringwood, Bayswater not available, Doncaster and Nunawading stores may have few.. worth to buy for below $500 in my opinion

    • I'd normally discourage price matching at OW but since this seller probably doesn't have stock then now is a good time to take advantage

      • Would you tell me why discourage?

        • The problem with price matching is the chance that one day there will be no one to price match against.

The tactic is only there to push competitors out of the market. Once the competitors are gone then they control the market and what do you think will happen to the bargains.
