  • Anyone know where is the best place + best price for 128G iPad Air WiFi?

    • +1

So far all ive found is the usual RRP, most stores dont even have it in stock as of writing this post.

That being said, black friday sales coming up, and generally Apple participate and offer 10% off ipads (well they did last year anyways)

    • -5

The USA is the best place for the 128GB ;-)
      …about AU$680 for WiFi or AU$790 for WiFi+3G
(If you pick the right shop & state and don't mind the Black Friday crowds)

      • To the one who asked, turn on private or email.
(16GB Air WiFi is about AU$400)
I am happy to get for you at that price or you can buy yourself from the retailer and pay between about $10 to $40 shipping using a US re-shipper, let me know…

        Edit : Sorted :-)

        Love all the negs :-)
I guess people are happy paying Oz prices, it is after all OzBargain :p

where is the best place for ipad mini retina 16gb wifi? want to buy gift cards at a discount to pay for it also, and claim TRS.

    • +3

But without a sim card slot. Oh well I guess you can always buy a 3G wifi modem for $20~$30

        • +3

Are you sure? This is a "Cellular" model which means it does have a sim slot. Yes, I checked Big W website. It does say it supports 4G(LTE)

        • Incorrect? This isn't my post. The link isn't mine either.

I just clicked the link under the title. It leads me to iPad Air 16GB WiFi Cellular on Big W website.

As a student who owns a Surface Pro 2, I can tell you that I honestly rarely use office. Having owned iOS, Android and Windows tablets, I can say that Apple has always been the most reliable and enjoyable experience which I think is why people buy Apple products. Windows and Android aren't that far behind though.

      • don't you do homework or assignments or study at the library?

        • Yes, but I use my MacBook for that. I'm not denying that the Surface is a great productivity device, but it pales in comparison to an actual laptop which is why I use my Surface for those purposes only when I have no choice.

  • +4

    What a ripoff…

    • +2

      That's your own opinion

  • +2

it is a rip off. Even the 16gb mini is a rip off, but I prefer the screen and design to the Nexus 7 and already have a galaxy s3 phone so this way get to enjoy both systems.

    • +1

Yeah pricing is a rip off but @panderiz it is not a junk.

    • +5

some people actually like using apps that were made for a tablet, not a stretched out phone app. Not saying all android apps for tablets are like that, but apple surely has a better tablet experience

    • +7

My N7 is great, but Retina iPads have a 4:3 ratio, best suited to display of A4 PDFs which is what I do mostly with the tablet.

      • +1

that is what makes the ipad mini more attractive if you do alot of PDF and journal reading.

        • It's an interesting trade off. 4x3 for iPad retina gives more "area" than 16x10 for Nexus 7. It is also closer to the aspect ratio of books, A4 etc. than the Nexus 7.
From what I understand, the higher PPI (pixels per inch) on the Nexus 7 really goes along way to sharpening the quality of text though. I've not do not have a direct comparison with newer models, and I couldn't find a link that compared them.
My own experience in the older models is that the higher PPI does make a difference when you are scaling a page of text. Sites like Ars Technica skirt around this discussion of a scaled page, but talk about "standard" size displays in detail - saying there's little visible difference.

Note: I talk about a scaled page because you can't fit an A4 sheet (or most web pages) onto an iPad without scaling, unless you scroll the screen.

        • more "area"

At same PPI, Retina's 36% more pixels than N7 is utilized for rendering scalable content (like PDFs).

        • I agree, it's a fantastic screen and product, but I opted for N7 32GB, at this price, I could almost buy 3 of them. N7 still fantastic, but, that's not to say this is not a great product, because it is, but overly expensive.

So hard to get the 128gb cellular or even wifi. Hard to find even at full price. I want it from Telstra but no dice. Yet Apple and Big W continue to waste my time with 16GB sales.

    • BigW are trying to get stock with larger storage, but expressed frustration at Apple "supply" lines. I heard this from two shop staff on 2 separate occasions, one woman who let the f-bomb slip when describing her frustration when I asked for an eta on 64gb models.

    • +1

http://www.apple.com/au/retail/ipad/ is your friend. I got my 128GB cellular from that reservation website, walk in the store and pick it up (honestly i spend more than finding carpark than during the purchase). They update it every 6am (local time) so either wake up early or stay up to reserve that ipad for the day.

  • -1

Apple have their products at such a high demand price, keep this up and you will lose customers, " people will move to other brands" not many people willing to pay so much for the ipad, it's a great tablet, but appl keeps pushing by increasing value.

    • Have you used an apple iOS device recently? iTunes is no longer required.

      • -3

iTunes is mandatory. Unless you want to screw around with the cloud. JUNK

      • I'm curious, how do you sync without iTunes?

        • +1

Perhaps my usage is different to others… but I haven't done a sync in a very long time (infact I'd question if I've done a sync this year - only use iPhone, not iPad).

I'd say that the only time I've plugged my iPhone 5 into iTunes was to restore the image from my previous iPhone. Perhaps I'm just a "lite" user these days… though with over-the-air updates, over-the-air activation it's hardly a requirement to use iTunes.

My wife has an iPad and never sync's, though she uses it mostly as an online device, but not for watching videos etc (we have a media player… so don't watch tv on the iPad).

…so I stand by my original statement that iTunes is not required (dependent on usage habits!).

        • Basically my question is: How do you load media into your idevice?

        • You can use winamp, which is what i use for my ipad mini for music (easier to organize and catalogue)

    • +5

      get out of here, troll.

  • any good deals for ipad mini 2 for 32G ?

  • I DOUBT IPADS WILL BE DISCOUNTED ON BLACK FRIDAY but apple (may) offer iTunes credit & promote free delivery but i WOULD expect iphone i5c's to be discounted

    … thats what wispered anyway

  • Video pro has it for $678 free shipping (to brizzy at least)

  • The 128 Gig model doesn't even show up anymore and the $40 discount code doesn't appear to work.

I just posted this online and their customer service team refuse to honor the code as it was apparently from last year.

    Dear Big W Team,

    I am at a loss as to why I am unable to redeem the $40 discount clearly advertised on the following page on your website;

    http://www.bigw.com.au/offer/savemore

I am in the process of purchasing an Christmas present and have come across all kinds of bother and 2 calls to your customer service call center have failed to find me a resolution to my concerns.

Can I please get a response?

For advertising the virtues and ease of your online site, I have done nothing but stress and get aggravated over this. I surely hope your social media team are up to the task of turning a detractor around.

    Your's Sincerely,
    Zac D***
