EDIT: Sale extended to 28 November.

Virgin have been having a sale for a while, and I've been looking to book Perth to Los Angeles (and was going to last week for ~$1500). Now, a week later, same sale, they have advertised PER to LAX for $1444 inclusive of tax, but I was easily able to find flights that totalled $1303.37 after selection. Amazeballs!

I'm leaving in May, returning in July. I don't have time to check every date, but for info: Outbound flight was marked at $686.96, and the return was $831.41. This adds up to $1518.37, but for some reason their system calculates the total price at $1303.37. I can confirm this is the amount I just paid, plus a $30 credit card fee. Avoidable if you use some other payment methods, but who wants to miss out on their free platinum travel insurance? =p

  • P.S. Two pieces of luggage up to 23kg included for ALL sectors. No stopover in Sydney at this price.

Also, advertised price SYD to LAX is more at $1,439!

    • So it's direct? That must be one long ass flight.

Why the vote down jerkface who ever you are.

          This one: for foul language.

The other one: perhaps whoever down-voted you thought you were taking the piss, but just in case you were serious: there is a difference between a connecting flight and a stopover. Google it.

    • cheers but could not find the poli option on jetstar payment page ? did it dissapear recently ?

  • Can you use the 10% off code on this one?

    • I think that code is for domestic flights only.

  • Pretty good price from Perth, best I had was a little over $900 from Melbourne, got a sore bum as we went into nz airspace lol

Syd-LAX price is actually $1257 for that time

    • Yep im getting $1257 for SYD-LAX return as well (may 31st - June 26th. Maybe time to rethink holiday plans for next year.

    • That's not too shabby. Usually, for Perth, you add ~$400 onto the east coast price for US destinations. This is the first time I have seen where we're not getting geo-gouged.

  • Don't forget to join Velocity if you are flying with Virgin Australia. PER-SYD-LAX is 9524 miles each direction which will earn you 120 status credits and apx. 9500 points. Enough for a $50 coles/woolworths voucher, etc.

    • Sorry to rebuke you Rep, but this is a Saver fare, which only entitles you to 0.5 points per mile.

      • That's right, 9524 miles each direction = 19,048 miles total x 0.5 = 9524 points. I probably didn't phrase it well the first time.

Just arrived back yesterday from LAX yesterday flying with Virgin Australia. Excellent flight with fantastic service. I've travelled to LA twice this year both times with Virgin, can highly recommend them.
