I rang tesltra when the wife wanted an iPhone (& a move to telstra for better coverage)and managed to get $300 credit for her switching from vodafail. This was about 3 years ago, YMMV.

  Telco these days no longer do such deals.
  
  Having said that you can currently get double data with Vodafone and when u sing up through Starthere you get $100 cash back. Much better deal IMO.
  
  People may argue its vodafail but I heard their 4G is quite good……. for now.

Only went through Telstra shop last week for new contract for my wife. Couldn't even get a free screen protector out of them!!!
