Feeding this rubbish to your kids should be classed as child abuse. Notice how the word 'cheese' is not used any more…

That's ok. I'll just feed them to other people's kids.

Are these the things that after you peel the plastic off, they look and feel like they still have the plastic on them?

      • Yup, bake them in an oven on a tray and you, my friend, have yourself a new set of laminated beer coasters

Sounds … disgraceful actually :) Lol @ the negger, seems there's at least one tw@ that likes these god awful things. Still at it I see, I feel sorry for you having such a poor and bland palate.

I vaguely remember the first time I was ever given one of these on a sanga, I was used to either cut block cheese or cheese slices cut from a block. Took a bite, a chew or two and then opened my mouth and just let what was in it fall out onto the plate, absolutely horrible muck. I then asked to see what it was I had been given, peeled a slice and tried to peel it again as I honestly thought there was still a layer of plastic to go. I then tore the slice of "cheese" into pieces.

Sadly, people must buy it otherwise it would have disappeared long ago.

    • How can it be bad for kids if it has calcium in it?

      • Arsenic with a hint of calcium is still poison.

        • But you'll die with great bone structure and really healthy teeth.

While I agree with other people in regards to how bad these 'cheese' slices are, and would never buy them, let's not forget that anytime you buy a burger with 'cheese' in a fast food place, this is the crap they give you.
    ;)

    • Partly the reason I always ask for no cheese at the 'tuckshop' style take away places.

The other part is so that it's made fresh as those places tend to sell hours old burgers left in the steam trays.

Then again, some time there's no winning the craving battle when I feel like sloppy McD's cheeseburger - it's the only time I seek out Kraft Singles.

  • Everything can kill you these days

I don't see a problem with this chesse lmao

Aren't these bargains normally contained in the weekly "compare-a-tron" post? I mean, we could make dozens of posts here, for example, Kettle chips are also 50% off at Woolies.

    i dont get it….
i buy these now for my family.

could anyone go deeper on why these are not good….what's a better alternative.?

    • buying actual cheese, in the form of a block, and slicing them into slices for your family.

http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/121786 the comments and wiki link posted were quite informative for me

It's processed "cheese", made up of additives and fillers, with enough dairy only for taste and consistency. Significant additives include high salt content. It's formed into the slice shape.

Real cheese (off the block) is made from mostly natural ingredients. Cracker Barrel is an example.
